the American government helped the Taliban to power in Afghanistan. Don't worry, I have no trouble believing that. They provided them with weapons to fight off the 'Russian communist disaster", we all know.
Sadam needed to be brought down, but not like this. Not with lies. About supposed weapons of mass destruction, about links to al qaeda that weren't there. Not by bombing the place back to prehistory!
And is it just a coincidence that all the companies Bush appointed to help with "rebuilding" Iraq (doing a great job btw! ) are companies that supported him in his elections? And are making huge profits?
You need to open your eyes Glenn!
I'm sorry. This is not the place to discuss this but my blood boils.
Our thoughts should not be with that idiot, but with the people in Spain.
And no matter who it is, if it is the eta, or al qaeda or the russian communist front for the liberation of animals.... this is disgusting and there is no excuse.
I'm sorry for ranting, but if I think about this too much I'll start crying .. the images of the mass demonstrations all over Spain yesterday were just on the news and they brough tears to my eyes.. It was just... well, it was dignified.
And on a different note... what is this gonna do to the spanish elections?

Looking for love and getting nothing that's worth regretting.

Yup Des, you know I lived with a Spanish economist in London in 2001 for a few months and i remember the first thing i said to him was "im sorry Im an American but really, im rather well adjusted" He seemed skeptical at first, but we got on pretty well and had discussions over Belgian beer and some sausage in the kitchen some nights about Bush and all that. Most of the time i would be on the defensive, and as someone who neither voted for Bush nor supported him it was hard for me to answer his questions about why would someone be that incompetent and this and that.
Glenn- Bush is there out of egotism and power-need that that particular family has bourne for several generations now. Most men have that need. So he started that whole war just to finish up what daddy ( yeah Des, ive had that 'flaming liberal' thought myself a few times!) couldnt quite clean up- something about oh i dont know 'dynasty' a la the Kennedys. But Bush is also there as a figurehead for the highly conservative neo cons who thought this country was going down a bad path with Clinton. Who, frankly, i think was the greatest thing since LBJ. Bush doesnt run this country, all those faceless idiots in the background, who DO want to make money and DO want to have power are running it.

Anyway, the main reason to point to ETA is because of the election, right? I think if it was Alquaeda's act, they would be on TV by now.
It was al-Qaeda, all right.

And these attacks will continue to happen as long as you let scum into your Country.
Only this week have 5 terrorists been let back into Britain after being freed. They will be living off taxpayers money and plotting more bloodshed once they are allowed to roam the streets again. Just do the decent thing and shoot the Bastards out the way.
