Paypal

#1 Post by andmaste »

Hi there.
Just a couple of questions about paypal, since I'm going to use it (only for payments) for the very 1st time:
- is it easy to use?
- is it safe?

I've always used bank transfer or postal orders to send money, sometimes (HMV for example) I use an alternative credit card.
But Paypal? Would it be good to pay with it?

Thank you in advance

PayPal itself is perfectly safe, it's who you're sending the money to that might not be and that doesn't really differ no matter how you pay.

It is easy to use for payments, a bit more of a pain if you're setting up to take payments and transfer them into your bank.

I use PAYPAL all the time. It's very safe, and quick. Best way to pay for items from e-bay etc. :)

quite happy wi paypal until i sold a high value item and needed to wait 30 days for my cash to clear!! guy who bought from me didnt leave any feedback even though he paid straight away. pain in the butt but never had any probs with paying for things. avoid concert ticket payments though....

Paypal is safe and easy, yes.

But if you sell on ebay and accept payments, you get taken out 30 cents every transaction and 2.9 percent of the total. Not nice, since ebay owns paypal now, and ebay takes out their own fees. Also of concern if you sell anything and accept payment via paypal. If the buyer makes a claim against you, they will FREEZE your money until the case is closed, even if you are not in the wrong.

But for just paying, you can't go wrong.

I find Paypal is the easiest way to pay for things as well. No problems at all.
