It is sad, but true: religion teaches intolerance and hatred towards people who are "different". On the one hand, they pretend to be the most merciful people, but they lack the ability of understanding and respecting that someone is just different in any way. They don´t bother
trying to understand them and don´t want to see that the world has changed a lot since
the Bible was written. But I don´t need any Pope or Bible to say to me what´s right and what´s
wrong, I use my own brain and feelings to judge it for myself.
For me, all the people are human beings first of all, and all should have the same rights, including the right to marry the person they love. It is also nonsense to prohibit abortions, because in the
end, it is always the unwanted and innocent child who suffers the most.

just a quick word.Gods views wont be politically correct because we are mired in our notions of self empowerment. he doesnt care about our modern day justifications on this or that.

for instance, he doesnt care that society feels a woman is entitled to end a life because he/she couldnt be bothered to wear a condom which caused a baby to be formed in her body and now in danger of having an execution date thru no fault of its own.

the pope is just repeating the company line. nothing to get upset about.

You do know that most abortions are performed on women who are using contraception, right?

I wonder if you would have such an unreconstructed view about individual sovereignty if it was you who was expected to carry around a parasite for 9 months.

first off, I have no idea if thats true as people say stuff on the net all the time, and even if it is true, its a sideways argument, since God STILL in theory wouldnt care because our society of random sex, and unsafe sex,and sex outside marriage still causes a baby to be formed in the womans body and then killed thru no fault of its own.

as far as your second point, I'm not leaving myself out of the argument. I know perfectly well that if my girlfriend(who I have a baby with outside marriage)we're to get say, raped and impregnated, there would be most likely if she choosed an abortion.

this is the world we live in. and I'm no different then anyone else. the difference is, I at least recognize the a babys life would be ended thru no fault of its own and I'm in the same boat as everyone else and rationalize it away.thats what we do. but God doesnt care.

but its not the popes fault for saying it.

I don't think the Catholic church is too keen on condoms either, you know.

Any excuse: :D

Yup the Pope is against contraception AND against abortion. This in a world where the population is rising and rising despite finite resources to sustain it. Whatever you may think of political correctness, the catholic church's attitude flies in the face of logic in the modern world.

it flys in the face of modern day, that much is true, as far as logic, no, as your basing the logic on the way this world is.

logic would be as it should be, which is why the church is against contraception and abortion.
logically we should be not having sex till we find 1 person we love, marrying them, having children with them, raising the children and living with who we love till death do us part.

the fact this is unrealistic in our world with human nature doesnt change the fact that would be the most logically sound way to go.the churches and Gods views of course would seem unrealistic as our human nature is flawed. we want to cheat, we want to have sex outside marriage, we want to sleep with as many people as we can.

thats not logical, its flawed thinking.but a status quo for mankind.

No Glenn, What I'm talking about is the fact that there are Nearly 7 BILLION people living in the world today. That's over twice the amount of people who were living just 50 years ago, within the lifetime of our parents. It's obvious that, in or out of a loving married relationship we should be having LESS kids if we don't want our civilisation to fall apart under the strain of population growth. In this situation, the Pope is saying that we should not use contraception even IN a loving marriage and that there should be no abortions. It's just CRAZY.

now we are on overpoulation? what else can we throw at the pope because he is against a doctor terminating a life inside of a woman?

whats crazy is our modus operandi, our culture, our values. we are so skewed that when someone says abortion is wrong they are supposedly the crazy one rather than our nature where we sleep around and marriage means nothing.

How many times can you ignore the fact that the pope is AGAINST ALL BIRTH CONTROL regardless of what you think of abortion. Have I not stated it clearly enough times yet?

of course he would be against it. because men and women were meant to pair up and have children.
discussion about overpopulation or other modern day factors wouldnt change the basis that men and women were meant to concieve children regardless.

if the pope puts limits on it, this life can be born yet that one cant dictated by a certain societys whims then he's tampering with Gods biological system he put in place at the beginning of time to go forth, two become one and multiply.

Yeah. Mean and women were meant to have children so lets bring billions of children into a world of malnourishment and misery. Brilliant, compassionate Christian attitude.
