In theory the view makes sense though, a man and woman would wait till they get married and settle down, then have kids, they would have a home and stable jobs and so the child wouldnt be brought into a world of malnourishment and misery.
But in the modern day barely anyone follows this, religion is dying out, and as a result we've got 15 year old single mums all over the place. Kids bringing up kids.

Whilst the Catholic church's position is medieval on modern problems and deserves to be criicised, I do find the criticism a bit lop sided.

The other churches have had problems with sexual abuse of minors and other problems.

I find some of the criticism coming from the UK reminicent of sectarianism.

The three parts of the world where religion is followed rigorously is Protestant White USA, Israel and the Muslim Middle East.
These are also the parts of the world that are engaged in a slow world war.

None of these are Catholic countries.

When there is some critisism of the American religous Right's control of US foreign policy and religious ties to aid, or criticism of the rabbis that urged on Israeli troops to atrocities during the invasion of Gaza, then I will join in criticism of the Catholic church.

Er... Yeah... That's exactly what things are like in all the developing-world countries where the catholic church still has massive influence... Everyone has a fair wage and families don't have to struggle for survival... I'm not talking about moral squabbles in well-off developed nations here, I'm talking about the reality in the rest of the world.

No one is saying that the Pope is to blame for all the world's ills. What I'm saying is that he's using his considerable influence to make some major problems that he could be helping with get worse not better.

your asking Gods representatives and church to condone in a round about way, that sex is for pleasure. thats what birth control is used for.so one can have sex for pleasure and not have a child. me and you may love that, but its subtracks Gods will, that man love a woman,marry and become one, have a child, raise it, and death do us part.

but you show, with your attitude, that its crosses onto "the rational thinkers" also.

if you had the power, you most likely would be as intolerant as you think the religious or the right wing are. but you dont have the power. so the best you can do is sort of knock the stuff off the top of the table and storm off.
