Re: Israeli air strikes (MOD WARNING P. 23)
come on. what I said was adressing the notion by der strudel kopf gregf that the Israeli are somehow commiting genocide against the palestinian people. and I was showing these are a people with a modern army. if they were actually as brutal as the left propaganda, and so in with the superpower USA the palstinians would be gone by now.

Re: Israeli air strikes (MOD WARNING P. 23)
I do understand what your saying. but the israeli's restrained way of dealing with the palestinians with hamas as their leaders still undermine the lefts over the top propaganda about them. as far as its easier to brutalize via restraint so as to be able to defend the actions, the nations of the world obviously dont see it that way. hence the lack of action on Israel thru the decade and decades of this Israel/palestinian issue.Danny C wrote:So people like you can go on Internet forums and ask questions like "If they are so brutal, why show any restraint?". It's bad PR if you go all out to brutalise a population, and if you can achieve pretty much the same result by showing "restraint" then it's much easier for your allies to defend you.glennjridge wrote:I never believe any of this Israel commiting genocide stuff. Israel has tanks....fighter bombers....attack helicopters....troop transports....troops with good gear.
whats all this pussyfooting around if they are so brutal. why show any restraint.
Rather, the Israeli government is closer in spirit and application to the apartheid government of South Africa. Unfortunately, there appears to be no Palestinian equivalent of the ANC on the horizon.
itss because no matter how much people in the news critisze Israel, nobody really believes the allegations that thats whats really going on.

The world has been condemning Israel's actions for 50 years.glennjridge wrote:...the nations of the world obviously dont see it that way. hence the lack of action on Israel thru the decade and decades of this Israel/palestinian issue.
UN Resolution 242 passed in 1967 :
UN Resolution 242 wrote: (i) Withdrawal of Israel armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict;
(ii) Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force."
Actually, you're correct.glennjridge wrote:itss because no matter how much people in the news critisze Israel, nobody really believes the allegations that thats whats really going on.
Knowledge of Israel's ethnic cleansing, breaches oh human rights and war crimes has been
known to everyone else around the world for decades.
However the media in the US does not show anything that is critical of Israel.
I know because of have visited the US and the TV news in particular is silent.
The world can not take further action until the truth is told to the Americans people.

Re: Israeli air strikes (MOD WARNING P. 23)
the "condeming" falls in the category of is lip service.
you say Israels "ethnic cleansing has been known to the world.think of bosnia/kosovo. the world saw something was actually REALLY going on and they sent forces in. they havent done that with Israel despite you say its been going on for over 50 years.
the non action, is the evidence.
as far as america doesnt hear the other side of the story, fat chance. I live here. CNN the NY times and reuters news are the wacko lefty news outlets there is always bashing Israel. its getting out there. thankfully the palestinians do cute things like vote in Hamas that shows the american people whos the rational side.

oh, BTW, you talk about what the public is told and not told.....were you aware, was it brought up in YOUR media that reuters got busted for cropping out pictures of people on the flotilla with knives in their hands? they show the picture that they presented to the world.....and the actual WHOLE photo. they cropped right around the knives.
REUTERS! lol

anotherwords, an agency thats supposed to report the news objectively, actively modified the news to give a false view of what was actually going on. so forget it greg.

Re: Israeli air strikes (MOD WARNING P. 23)
well theres a flip side to that "you dont live here" angle. where you live,I'm assuming your a muslim, and the majority of muslims are anti-Israel. so, by that notion my views are colored because I dont live there, and your views are colored a certain way because you DO live there.
so its basically a wash.

Re: Israeli air strikes (MOD WARNING P. 23)
Here is one example that happened to me. It is first hand
and people can make their own interpretations.
This story broke after Israel pulled out of the long term occupation of southern Lebanon,
the one that lasted ~20 years. Israel had a number of prisons in the occupation zone.
They were guarded by the SLA a rogue army of Lebanese Christians but commanded
by Israelis.
The occupants were civilian hostages taken from the surrounding population in Souther
Lebanon. Many were taken as children and had grown up in the prison. The purpose was
to subdue the local population as the occupants were effectively hostages.
There was a long interview done with a 12 year old boy who had been grabbed off his
push bike. He was now ~25 and his family had not seen him in over a decade. He had
grown up into a man while a hostage in the prison. He described clearly how while the
guards were SLA the officers who commanded them were Israeli speaking Jewish.
The people who had spent 15 years as hostages had suffered beatings and poor food
but at least not worse torture. The people were freed when Israel were made to leave
Lebanon, and now they were free and could speak.
This was reported in detail on all Tv stations here and as I had cable, I checked the
story was on the BBC. It was also reported in a short format on CNN.
I flew to the US for work, and that night checked the TV. There was a brief report
on CNN but it was even more muted and without details or interviews. Moreover the
domestic CNN was different to the worldwide CNN. The report was clearly edited
down for the US audience. The local news had no reports of the story what so ever.
They did have several stories like one on three American women in Jerusalam who
had gone there (crying) to "protect Jewish babies who are being killed by the Ay-rabs".
There was no actual evidence of this happening.
Apart from the lame report on CNN there was no other reports on the prison.
There was regular stories about Ay-rabs killing Israelis. In recent years I have
often seen huge mega churches full of Americans praying "Lord please do not
let Israel make peace".
Make of this what you like but that is my first hand experience.
