Another Doctor Who/Pet Shop Boys reference

Although I've read before that the Dr Who Children in Need special "Dimensions in Time" was originally to feature a PSB composed Dr Who theme (they declined). Apparently a first cut of the episode used 'Forever in Love' from Relentless. What a shame that take never made it to air, then there would be ONE good thing to say about Dimensions in Time

Here it is.

"The Pet Shop Boys, purveyors of arch synth-pop, were asked to record a version of the Doctor Who theme. Although the boys declined, and second preference Erasure took too long to respond, [The 1993 Children in Need Special] Dimensions in Time's first edit used an extract from Forever in Love, a track from the PSB's album Very Relentless (1993) in place of Ron Grainer's theme. Ultimately, an alternative was found when Mike Fillis, who played the Sea Devil in the Rani's menagerie, gave Nathan-Turner a demo tape containing a version of the theme he and Adrian Pack had put together as 'Cybertech'."
