There's a generic dance remix (or cover?) of it that's been kicking around at certain gay venues for some time. I suspect that's the reason for the inclusion.
As for Go West, I would have thought the Village People's version was more "gay" because some of the imagery in the PSB film-clip suggested a post-communist Soviet connection.
