Yeah, studio recordings tend to.

That was about as live as Milli Vanilli scoring Fritz Lang's Metropolis. There's more life in one of Pele's undergarments.

It wasn't just the lip sync, it was lifeless. For all the impressive dance moves and set changes, there was no spark. Not a disaster of course, just a waste of me getting excited for it.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

Neil & Chris probably watched it as they're in LA.

Well, I thought the ads were pretty decent this year.

And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

A lot of Yanks do. Even their 'factual' news programmes don't know where the hell anything is/ To be fair though, I wouldn't know where most states are located. Mainly because I don't care.

I don't really care how much the average American knows about history and geography but it's appaling how little American presidential canadidates seem to know about these things. According to the book Game Change, when she was selected to be McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin had to be taught who fought who in both world wars and whether the Korean War was fought before or after the Vietnam War! It reminds me of Ambrose Bierce's pithy aphorism that war is God's way of teaching Americans geography.

I've traveled quite a bit and I've found most people in the world to be pretty insular and dumb in this regard. We Americans take a bad rap.

As an example: a colleague here in South Africa asked me the other day if I could swing by LA when I return home to fetch him something and mail it to Africa. He knows I live in DC.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

Many republicans are proud of being ignorant. That's partly because, or maybe why, they watch Fox News, which pretty much is all false or misleading information. In fact, there was a survey done recently which found that people who get their news from Fox News have less accurate knowledge about things than people who don't follow the news at all.

But in their minds that is a good thing because having too much knowledge makes them "elite", which is bad. Hard to argue with people like that.

I think it was an EPIC perfomance by Madonna. Incredible artist, classic, timeless.
Neil Tennant has a great voice, Chris Lowe has great silence.
