So I was watching that BBC4 programme on disco last night and decided to listen to more of the obscure tracks. This series is frigging amazing and features both I'm not scared and Losing my mind. Just listening to the original 12" mix of the Boystown Gang's Can't Take My Eyes Off You.
Oh yes, not bad, already got most of the better tracks. The programme was more like 'The Joys of Gay Sex and Drug Taking' than an exploration of the sound of disco. The doc was fairly cliched in places.
'Studio 54' for it's decadence and history was amazingly foul and tacky. We need our very own 'Studio 54' but with more class. We could call it 'Clause 28'. 'Tatchell's Loft' or 'Moroder Vocoder'.
