Saint Etienne WAMBSE US Edition ordering process: travesty#2

#1 Post by PoloPony »

When STE started doing their deluxe or rare releases and making them available to order on some website at a specific hour years ago it was a disaster. The site crashed because of all the fans who wanted to order. Then as time and releases went on, probably because they were then released by Universal through their store, things got better.
But now, maybe because it's not a Universal item, the US version of their last album is available through some never-before-heard-of site which basically crashed 15 minutes before the opening of the orders. It's been more than 4 hours now and I have only managed to put the cd in the basket.
The band have sent some messages on that **** twitter blaming modern technology! Hah, if they choose amateur sites that cannot handle the volume of visitors they very well know they will get, it's ONLY their fault.
It's so frustrating, I'm gonna give up real soon. They should be ashamed.
No, I'm not grateful that they are offering some copies on the site instead of just selling them on their US tour. Alone that would have been a great f*** you to their fans who cannot travel to the US to purchase a bloody cd.
STE you better step into the 21st century!

I got lucky and managed to buy the album last night after about ten minutes of trying. But yes, this is very annoying: releasing almost an album's worth of new stuff only available to US concert audiences and people with a fast browser and a lot of patience

And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

The biggest travesty was being a $1 short of buying the album at the show in DC last month. I did mange to get one thru Greedbag yesterday. They were selling on eBay for a fortune!
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

The bonus disc is quite good. Solid Gold should've been on the album.

Initially well over $100. NowI think there may be a BIN for $50ish. Not sure.

I had the same problem trying to order this from Australia. At 5am mind you.
All in all I eventually managed to order a copy, which apparently is on its way.
Interestingly, they are currently selling the Wods and Music US edition at the UK shows, and its available from the Heavenly online store.
