I realise Twoism should be the author of this thread... but...

What an amazing band.

Music Has The Right To Children is still my favourite album of theirs, though Geogaddi has its tough, nuggety moments, and The Campfire Headphase is a wispy, poignant sunset.

If 'Reach For The Dead' - the teaser track for their brand new album, Tomorrow's Harvest - is anything to go by, then the new album (which drops on June 10th) is going to be the definitive BOC statement. A plangent, soaring gaian elegy.

So looking forward to this. These guys really know how to dive into old sounds and produce something, new unlike DP and their RAM which is total pastiche.
I also love their dreamy euphoria which I'd love to hear the boys do more of - I think Invisible went there, the best song on Elysium I think.

My fave is the In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country EP. I would welcome a whole album in that vein. Their last album Campfire Headphase I personally found too abstract and quite forgettable, but the taster for the new album bodes well.

Heartily agree, Eldritch. It's a fabulous EP and should have featured in my summary. I didn't like the Campfire Headphase as much as the earlier albums, although Peacock Tail is brilliant.

The whole 'missing numbers' promo campaign was brilliant... maybe required after such a long absence, maybe to whip up frenzy among their loyal fanbase, but also maybe because they think they've got something special...

the new album is pretty good. It sounds like........ Boards of Canada. Which is good.

Yet to take it for a spin on the Marantz.
