Can my 8yo daughter stand at The O2?

I have two standing tickets and want to take my 8 year old daughter but it says on the back of the tickets that you have to be over 16 to stand in the standing area.

Has anyone ever taken a child into the standing area?

Someone has told me that there is a block of unreserved seating that standing ticket holders can use, does anyone know if this is right?

i saw some people with children on their shoulders, in paris, but in o2 i don't know if it's possible.
