CD and vinyl have arrived too. Lush packaging. I'm surprised to see that the vinyl comes with a download code! That's a first for a PSB album?

Will have to wait til Monday to get my playbutton, vinyl & Axis 12" since it's all delivered to my work address. Luckily for me though I found a copy of the CD in Soho yesterday and have listened to nothing else since, it's a magnificent album!

why are the files only encoded at 160kbps ?
it's not as if it costs them more to encode at a higher bitrate, why not wav or flac ffs :wall:
i just played a track and it sounds like they recorded it in a snake pit, there is so much hiss :grumble:

Absolutely shocking for a commercial release

I was wondering what the bitrate would be, I sort of expected the songs to be 256 kbps - just like the iTunes version. But 160 kbps is shockingly low, pretty outrageous if you ask me...

Maybe the "player" isn't good enuff to handle higher but I'm pretty sure it does. And the size i 2gb right? Not lack of space either.

Images please! :)

£14 for 160kbps MP3 sounds outrageous though, but how did you find out about the bitrate? According to http://playbutton.com/products/diy they hold either 128MB or 2GB, the ones you create yourself that is - my 320kbps rip only uses 119MB so the highest possible quality should actually fit...

You've just got to love that cute little box! So it comes in 3 parts? Looks like it's got a barcode sticker just like the CD and LP, even though it would seem a bit unnecessary in this case. I guess the back's got the tracklist - what about catalogue# and credits?

No worries ! Yeh there is a sticker on the side of the box but doesn't really get in the way :)

"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

And everything about tonight feels right and so young
