Yes, I saw that they were having a Bowie tribute. They had one on Rage a few months ago, which I still have recorded. I see they've updated the playlist with Blackstar & Lazarus.

While I love Bowie and enjoyed 6 Music playing loads of stuff on Monday, some of the reaction was OTT. Lauren Laverne in tears on her way to work - really? Were you related to him or something? She even read out an email with somebody saying that they were going on their first (fantastic) voyage without Bowie in the car with them. I mean wtf.

disrespect to Bowie, as I was a fan, but what you describe above reminded me of these lyrics:
from PSB's: "After the Event":
"Evening comes as a surprise
Suddenly someone dies
Everyone's over-reacting
with cliches and bad acting
Misty in the rain
flowers in their cellophane
Policemen intervening
Drama without meaning
It's perfectly routine
A statement from the Queen
Obituaries appear
You can leave your tributes here"

I knew the morning of his death someone was going to make an After the event reference.

Re: David Bowie R.I.P
Greetings,
I was just reading the lyrics of 1984 and it gave me the chills, as it made me think of the PC-brigade and their charge towards a new breed of authoritarianism....
R.I.P. David Bowie.
