"SUPER" - CHART RESULTS (arround 80.000 copies sold)

I live in Ontario, Canada and was disappointed to see no copies in the new releases section of my local Walmart this week. It's a bit of a hike for me to get to an HMV but I'd like to hope there was some exposure in those stores. I'm still waiting for my copies from the OS which might arrive in time for Christmas

Not sure what the Canadian sales figures might be for "Super" - anybody got any stats?

I know "The World Chart" by Media Traffic, it's not official and it's base one stimated sales but anyway i think their results try to be as most accurate as possible.

According to them, if you take a look at the first page of this thread you can see it's not extrictly true when people say Pet Shop Boys is going down on sales.

For example, according to Media Traffic, "Electric" could sell more copies than "Yes". I can only count on the sales figures while the album is on the top 40.

I think they'll probably have had similar sales figures. So "Electric" was more succesful that we thought.

I'm in Victoria, BC, and one of the smaller Indie shops was enthusiastic about them and stocked Super. They are also ordering all the vinyl. It seems around here the PSB have become a fully fledged Indie band. And to the Indie crowd the PSB are hip because they are not seen as top 40.

Also when I got my copy, they phoned me up an hour before the store closed on Friday, and when I went in, my copy was taken from a stack of about 10 copies they had clearly reserved.

So poke your nose into some Indie/vinyl type stores. You may be surprised.

Also phone up Ditch Records in Victoria ASAP at 250-386-5874
and tell them exactly where you are, and some of the staff there may very well know the closest place to you to check (I'm quite serious). But specify CD.

Oh, PHYSICAL! Missed that bit. Because on the official charts (april 16) they are not listed.

The Billboard Top 200 album chart is announced on Tuesday. Streaming is making up more and more of the chart placement lately, so I suspect that Super will be quite a bit lower than the #21 physical number

I'm in Tennessee, and the local indie store sold out of Super after two days! I'm sure we aren't talking hundreds of copies but it's nice to see it outselling their expectations. The local Best Buy also had Super in stock, and they never stocked Elysium or Electric. So maybe they are doing a bit better in US sales.
