Why do Pet Shop Boys need alot of people to help them produce their songs? Like Shep and Pettibone, Rollo, David Morales. When they can do it themselves.
Weird Al does eveything for himself, making songs/ideas, recording, producing, mixing and directing videos and hes damn good at it.
Demos -
My personal feelings says that if a demo sucks sh*t then the artist is not good. If the artist requires alot of mixing, then they are not good. Dont get me wrong but I love the PSB but i heard the demo to Its a Sin, i laughed myself off the chair. Some demos are good, like Falling.
Live performance -
If the artist sucks live, then thats when you know they suck, thats when you know they are "fake" like Fear Factory, I like them but i heard their live song samples
. They only sound good because they have to do alot of mixing to sound good. Out of the 3 people I like, Weird al rules Live because his band are the true heros in the songs.Overall -
An Artist is good when the demo and live sounds as good as the recordings on the cd. If they dont then they are "fake". PSB has potential but i dont see why they need alot of prducers for videos, recordings when they can do it themselves
