On my one and only visit to New York.
Walked into an Abercrombie and Fitch (at south street seaport iirc) and they were playing “more than a dream”

Or Paninaro....y3potential wrote: Thu 14 Feb 2019, 3:09 pmonzio wrote: Thu 14 Feb 2019, 9:52 am A summer night of 2017, at a gas station close to my house.
There were 2 food trucks on the opposite side of each other, one doing pasta, one doing panini.
I was sitting eating by the pasta one and Go west started playing. A few second later the panini one started playing Suburbia.
All the situation was odd, confusing and out of time, but it was also a complete PSB triumph!
I suppose it would have been beyond surreal if one of them had played The Truck Driver And His Mate..![]()

the place is usually not whats odd.....its the song selection. sometimes I have heard deep tracks at the strangest places. I never dreamed...the day would come I would hear "drunk" and "before"at abercrombie and fitch. and "the end of the world" on the muzak system at a movie theater hallway.
yes its clear....someone at abercrombie and fitch is a fan.

Before is definitely "mall" music, I could see that playing in a store. Drunk, eh, kind of. The End of the World is a true deep cut.
I was at a bar a few years ago that had one of those jukeboxes where you could literally pick almost any song in existence. Essentially spotify (this was before spotify hit the US though). I played a bunch of very random PSB tracks, and some of them sounded extremely out of place at this upscale bar. The one I remember vividly sounding really bizzare was Single Bilingual. Just sounded like a mess of cacophony. Was a whole lot of fun to pay to play songs like Do I Have To? and Young Offender though.

And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]

Three old ladies working at a charity shop in Newquay were playing the Daily Mail free cd. I walked in and heard 'Did you see me coming' having never heard it before.
She said ''Yes, it's the....pet...shop... boys...see? It says it there'' She showed me the paper slipcase

Back in the '90s the album mix of Suburbia was a hit at the local supermarket...

I took the family to the ArcelorMittal Orbit at the Olympic Park in London today and was pleasently surprised to hear the Elysium album being played.

Old people’s home yesterday. ‘Was it worth it’ came on - surreal and a bit awkward.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

Half time today Notts County v Grimsby Town, they played Getting Away With It. Does that count?
It was the only decent part of the worst game ive ever seen.

A charity toy shop today and Always on my Mind came on - still sounds effortlessly epic

Heard "It's a Sin" at London, ON, Covent Garden Market last Friday. Not sure which vendor was playing it, but they had an 80's mix going on.

Heard Being Boring in Woolworths just now!
(Melbourne, Australia)
Pretty cool since it's one of their lesser known singles as far as I know.

Back in 1999 I visited the British Motors how at the NEC in Birmingham. Ford had a massive stand and held a big performance with dancers etc every so often. They used the Trouser Enthusiasts mix of A Red Letter Day for this performance.

I saw this structure for the first time last month. Did you visit the Aquatics Centre? One of the most stunning interiors I've ever seen. Like a Ken Adam Bond set. Anyway, back to the topic...G_Goalden wrote: Thu 25 Apr 2019, 11:22 pm I took the family to the ArcelorMittal Orbit at the Olympic Park in London today and was pleasently surprised to hear the Elysium album being played.
