Re: Annually 2020 + Free CD
They most likely do it because they love doing it. They are not making much money or any from Annually. For a long time the fan club cost them money as they have mentioned quite a few times in the past. If they didn’t enjoy making music, they would have retired a long time ago, don’t really think they need anymore money.drunk14 wrote: Sun 19 Apr 2020, 7:04 pmI didn't mention that I was unhappy with ALL THREE bonus CD that had been released so far.NotInvisible wrote: Sun 19 Apr 2020, 6:15 pm Quit yer whining. We've been very fortunate to get three bonus CDs with the four Annually releases. With fans like you, I'm not sure why Neil and Chris even bother. Life's short enough as it is - try to enjoy it for once.
Do you want to know why they bother? Because they earn money. This is their work, profession, call it whatever you like. I will stop whinning when you stop being idealist and dreamer.

To make money, simple. Or did you think that their only purpose in life is to make you happy?NotInvisible wrote: Sun 19 Apr 2020, 6:15 pm With fans like you, I'm not sure why Neil and Chris even bother.
Annually 2020 + Free CD
Unreleased songs referenced:
Will you love me?
Clean air hybrid - “psychedelic”; will probably be a b-side
Method in your madness - “a super-pop song”
Waiting - written with Olly Alexander but unfinished; “from our chill-out album”
Hotel Home - a pop mix of the Molly Nilsson track; they weren’t happy with the finished result
Any longer
You know where you are with the winter
Collector’s item* - “a satirical song”
Wallish Walls
Mongrel, with Neil vocals
Travelling - “sounds like Snow Patrol”
Sense of time - “sounds like Tel Aviv beach music”
And I was like*
Beautiful mistake - “Latin; a party tune”
One track mind - original version of An open mind; an extended mix exists
He’s not coming home - “very, very sad”; about knife crime
You are the one (dance version)
Ich bin Musik, with Neil vocals
For every moment, with Neil vocals
*serious Hotspot contenders, worked on with Stuart Price

Christ, stop whining. We are so lucky to have so much new material to hear and to read. If you feel like you are being ripped off or it's too much material being released approaching the twilight of their career don't spend your money and stream it on YouTube like kids today who don't own a thing. Buying isn't compulsory, but for many fans it's a genuine treat. They've been so good to us over the years how can you begrudge them a pension pot?
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing
Re: Annually 2020 + Free CD
Two or three of those have been mentioned in previous issues. What have we done became Decide. Would be good if they released one of their versions of For every moment. They've been working on it since 2003.Dog wrote: Sun 19 Apr 2020, 11:00 pm Unreleased songs referenced:

I would have liked an extended or remixed version of No Boundaries, that is to say different, to have appeared in the Dreamland single ... or vice versa ...

Yeah, Clean Air Hybrid and Method in your madness (i.i.r.c.) were both written during the Super sessions. Good to see they are not leaving unreleased ideas behind. Some other tracks on Hotspot are based on earlier ideas (Monkey Business)

I’m intrigued by what they wrote about Wallish Walls. I wonder if the name of the place fascinated Neil just as much as it did me! Very small road in Northumberland.
If I thought what you’d think I wouldn’t even be here.

"Collector's item" also turned into "Into thin air", I think? "Will you love me?" sounds familiar too.
~edit: oh, hey, here's a list from Geowayne.

Yes, I have listened to all the tracks now. Don't know if I need the CD to be honest. I really like "Angelic thug"!madsnielsen wrote: Fri 17 Apr 2020, 11:22 pmSearch “My beautiful laundrette” on YouTube and you’ll find the tracks uploaded by chibb73. Arrived in Ireland this morning. Fastest time I've ever got anything from the official store.

Re: Annually 2020 + Free CD
They continue to record music to make themselves happy. Anyone who thinks they're raking in dough from a website exclusive needs their head checked. The print run on these things is ridiculously small.BlackPanther wrote: Sun 19 Apr 2020, 9:23 pmTo make money, simple. Or did you think that their only purpose in life is to make you happy?
