The Last Unicorn 2005 live-action movie

Anybody remember the 1982 cartoon version of The Last Unicorn? According to http://www.imdb.com, they're in pre-production for a live action movie. The actress for Almathea/the Unicorn hasn't been chosen yet, but Johnathan-Rhys Meyers is going to play Schmendrick, Christopher Lee is King Haggard, Angela Landsbury is Mommy Fortuna, and Mia Farrow is Molly Grue. It shows the processes that they have gone through so far for production, including storyboards and photographs. Julian Doyle (Time Bandits, Brazil, Life of Brian) is directing, Michael Pakleppa is the producer (he worked on the original). The author of the book which it was based on, Peter S. Beagle, has a hand in the works. I just read the book for the first time and was surprised that they were doing a movie.

the song "the last unicorn" from the cartoon was SO beautiful. I remember watching that cartoon more than once. I remembered liking it.
but that song was my favorite so much so I put my crappy tape recorder up to the TV to capture it. It was done by a group called "america", kinda a folk style group.

Oh yeah, I remember that song. It's been so long, though, my memory is pretty fuzzy. Last time I saw it was on laserdisc. I've been trying to find a copy to rent, but no luck. I believe the soundtrack is available if you want to revisit those memories.
Something interesting I found out: the team that worked on the cartoon went on to be part of Hayayo Miyazaki's (My Neighbor Totoro, Sprited Away) company.
Hope the movie turns out well. Seems like the fantasy movie thing is catching on after the success of Harry Potter. (I hope that the rumored Americanized movie version of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe never comes to fruition, though. Please, lord.)
