At least one new track would have been nice otherwise it doesn’t provide much incentive to purchase.

Also SMASH doesn’t sit right as title. Journey, Timeline or History would have felt more fitting.

A greatest hits covering the period from I’m With Stupid until I Don’t Wanna and a new track would have been a slightly better ideal. Or just covering the Stuart Price era(s) called Trivial.

But no-one would have bought that. The casual fan would t recognise anything and everyone on here would say “I already have these” 😳😳😳

Not aimed at us, but still think it’s to expensive for the casual fan.

No video for All over the world, even though that was the official video for the EP. No new song?

Definitely skipping this release

Smash? With a load of singles from 2009 on that didn't even make the top 40...

Lately they feel uninspired in both titles and artworks. This is the laziest of them all. Smash tries to be ironic I guess. The cover might work if it was an hologram but somehow I doubt it.

I'll buy the vinyl as I am sure it is on 180 gram vinyl. So likely a good pressing. Plus for the liner notes.

I'd agree. Think one of the issues with having such a large back catalogue is they either go down the "Ultimate" route (which would probably be pretty much identical to that release and weigh heavily on the 80s-90s) or choose to release pretty much everything. The only issue with the latter is that on CD it still needs to be sub £15 to attract the casual buyer as the price listed on amazon is more for the diehard fan but there's nothing really to entice them unless that tracklisting is incorrect (disc 5 does seem very odd!). People buying CD Boxsets expect unreleased material, even if it's for a band they aren't fanatical about.

Groups like Human League and ABC have in recent years released "Gold" 3CD hits compilations that have even been as low as around the £5-7 mark. While that's too cheap it feels like "Smash" needs to be more in line with this. The vinyl boxset is a completely different story though, even casual fans might fork out £70-100 for this given the 2nd hard market and people treating like them works of art.
