It doesn't replace Discography which is a work in its own. Remember it ends with five new/exclusive tracks collected on CD for the first time.
Being Boring 7"
Jealousy 7"
Streets
DJC
Was it worth it.
Discography is a musical journey.

Discography has been unavailable across the majority of formats for decades. So essentially Smash does replace it.

Smash - The Singles 1985 - 2020

I wonder how much involvement Neil and Chris have in such a release as this?

I suspect not a great deal and they just green light the overall design and concept. I doubt they are poring over every little detail and probably don’t even spare too much attention on the tracks included/excluded.

I think for new album releases they would be way more invested though.

Really?! It's been on my shelf for more than 31 years.

The Discography on the shelf is always repeating itself ... Waterloo!
A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

I’m sure Neil particularly will have been instrumental in all aspects. Others may disagree but it looks to me like there’s tonnes of thought that’s gone into this. By paring back their definition of a PSB single they are focusing on quality rather than quantity and protecting their legacy as a result. The design looks like an attempt to reach new fans as well as old, and they've launched on TikTok to boot. The sleeve includes brand new interview content for each of the 55 tracks. The DVD / blu-rays are impressively comprehensive. And then there are exclusive formats and bundles for the fan community. This hasn't just been tossed out.

I'm waiting for my local mail order provider to stock up. Phoned them today, they are aware of the release but haven't received anything yet. Don't dare to order from the PSB shop from outside UK even though it's better now to the EU.

How's Smash doing in the charts? ... I don't even know where to look for the 'official' chart list nowadays

nowhere in sight here at least: https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/

My understanding is because it's not released until June, then it won't show on any official chart until then. That's not to say it won't appear on pre-order charts before then of course..

I have the same problem. i have tried paying by VISA, by Mastercard and by PayPal. I have tried various spellings of my name (it includes umlauts). I have tried using my account and I have tried guest login (with two different email addresses than the one in my account). i have tried all of the above in Safari, Chrome and Opera for MacOS, Safari for iOS and Edge, Chrome and Opera for Windwows. Nothing helps!

I contacted their support last week, but haven't got a reply from them yet. I found this very frustrating, I have been shopping online since the 90s but I have never encountered this type of problem before.
