I’ve just had a look at the albums released on June 16th, and apart from Queens of the Stone Age, there doesn’t seem to be that much competition

I bought 3CD/2 BR edition can't wait to see the package i hope it not too fat but it's 5 disc

It'll be interesting to see some reviews, which will probably state that Disc 1 is amazing, Disc 2 good and Disc 3 okay.

With that in mind, I've been thinking about the worst singles on there. The two weakest periods are the end of Bilingual through to PopArt and the end of Yes through to Electric.
However, their worst single remains Winner for trying too hard to be We are the Champions when their chart days were already behind them. It's striking how the singles pick up on the latter half of Disc 3 when they've left Parlophone and aren't chasing hits anymore.

Worst singles:

1. Winner (go and listen to Gold instead for your Olympics inspiration)
2. Somewhere (pointless cover version when they were in a creative and commercial rut)
3. It doesn't often snow at Christmas (just because it feels out of place on SMASH)
4. New York City boy ("Tonight, Matthew, we're going to be the Village People."
5. Was it worth it?/Together (for both being non-hits flogging greatest hits compilations)

Winner - cardiac arrest at the starting gun
I don't wanna - listen to this song no more

One of the reasons i bought this edition is because i don't have Ultimate so Together is good addition and i like this song, the same is for It doesn't often snow at Christmas i don't have this song on any cd from main discography, the Numb (Single Edit) is also welcome i really like this shorter version. The other reason is that I think the second cd have amazing flow it starts from Very goes to Bilingual, then Nightlife ends with Release/PopArt i have to hear it in this order. I also really like the fact that i will have all of PSB videos so i will watch them on my PS5. This 5cd editon is good deal.

And the remixes are top notch Especially the Danny Tenaglia ones. The DT after mix is pure bliss, only released in the U.S

Yes, Before is one of their best singles ever. Still fresh. And the remixes are ace.

Tbh I don't mind either WIWT? or Together but they're slightly superfluous as they were recorded to promote greatest hits albums and are more throwaway than the likes of DJ Culture or Miracles.
I know a lot of people dislike I Get Along but I really like it in a Mott the Hoople way, even if it isn't very Pet Shop Boys.
But yes, thinking about SMASH has focused my mind on how execrable Winner was.

From the looks of things, each disc will be packaged in its own gatefold, so I expect it to pretty much be a slim box set.

Each to their own of course.
To me Before is their worst single.
All the remixes were bad too.
At least Winner had some nice mixes.

I wonder if they will put the 7" remix of Heart on it this time. Unless my memory fails me they had the album version on Ultimate - or was it Discography?

Together is a great song, unfortunately it's mastered way too loud. I wish someone would go back and remix and remaster it in a sane way.
