Re: New album Nonetheless
Hotspot and Electric are the true outliers. The release period has always been either Spring (March-May) or Autumn (Sep-Oct) and Fundy only got a May release because of delays out of their control. It was originally going to be late March/early April.Shopper wrote: Mon 05 Feb 2024, 10:43 amits interesting that from an autumn time frame they went to more spring summer and Hotspot's January is a true outlier
- Title Details Peak chart
Please 24 March 1986 3
Actually 7 September 1987 2
Introspective 10-Oct-88 2
Behaviour 22 October 1990 2
Very 27 September 1993 1
Bilingual 2 September 1996 4
Nightlife 11 October 1999 7
Release 1 April 2002 7
Fundamental 22-May-06 5
Yes 23 March 2009 4
Elysium 10 September 2012 9
Electric 15 July 2013 3
Super 1 April 2016 3
Hotspot 24 January 2020 3
They should bump up the album to April 1, to get a Top 5
Re: New album Nonetheless
Damn you Taylor! grrrrrr...
I would have loved the boys to get another number 1 at this point in their careers and in their 40th anniversary year it would have been extra special.

you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
Re: New album Nonetheless
After the turnout at the Dreamland cinemas.... what makes you think that Swift and PSB would even be in any kind of competition with eachother.rashomon wrote: Mon 05 Feb 2024, 11:00 am Damn you Taylor! grrrrrr...

What Stopped Please? Hits 4 and Brothers In Arms
What Stopped Actually? Bad Michael Jackson
What Stopped Introspective? Rattle and Hum U2
What Stopped Behaviour? Rhythm Of The Saints Paul Simon (nope, me neither)
With Actually, Introspective and Behaviour it was literally down to timing. A week either way and they would have had at least a week at number one. The TS juggernaut will put paid to nonetheless too...
is is and isnt isnt
Re: New album Nonetheless
the big question I have is will Feel be a high energy track? Or will the album settle quickly into ballads, like Hotspot?
I'm really hoping they keep the energy up at the start!
And really looking forward to a track-by-track write up, so I can pour over the track reviews. Always a fun moment with new albums

Not a Swifty by any measure, but I'd give her slightly more credit than that
Re: New album Nonetheless
I don't know who it was, but I want to thank whoever it was here that tipped us off about buying the clear vinyl from Amazon and the Grey vinyl from Rough Trade.
I would never have known otherwise (although a Google likely would have reaped results). I get regular emails (multiple daily which is kind of annoying actually) from signing up to Rough Trade (UK and US) and not a single one has mentioned PSB Nonetheless so far. Quite disappointing.
So, whoever you are, thank you!

When I read the articles about the new album doesn't look like it was going to be a sad album. An "uplifting" album sounds to me like something more easy-going than a sad album.

I know a lonely man, but he's a bit different, and he's a busdriver so he meets loads of people every day. Other than that, there isn't much loneliness around here.OakeyDokey wrote: Fri 09 Feb 2024, 12:11 amNo, it's rampant everywhere. Loneliness Is A Catastrophe.
