Pet Shop Boys on 12-inch - Monday 26 February

#1 Post by Xakrij »

London listening bar Spiritland will be hosting a special “Pet Shop Boys on 12-inch” night on Monday, 26th February.

Ché Guevara and Debussy to a disco beat? Few chart artists have explored the potential of the 12-inch mix as widely as Pet Shop Boys.

Tonight Spiritland celebrates Tennant and Lowe on the dancefloor and in the disco mix. From the primal thump of ‘Heart’, ‘Suburbia’ and ‘It’s A Sin’ via house, rave and collaborations with figures as diverse as Trevor Horn, Shep Pettibone, Richard X and David Morales to luxurious present-day mixes like ‘Dreamland’ and ‘Monkey Business’, this is PSB with one foot in Ibiza and another in Berghain.

This is a chance to experience those Pet Shop Boys tracks you never hear through the big speakers, chosen for Spiritland’s legendary sound system by long-time PSB-watcher Andrew Harrison (Select, Mixmag, Q).

Admission free, table reservations advised. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will not be in attendance

With any luck you'll be rubbing napkins with David Bowie and Dusty Springfield.

Please make note of the set list.
I am most confident that I can re-create the experience in my own Living Room!

(Sounds kinda like a small scale concert production sanctioned by VISA performed in my own living room! Who'da thunk it?)

WOO-HOO!

Great fun thanks!
Although the venue is not a dance club, many of us were dancing for the last 45 minutes or so.
Good to see the lads from Belfast who got me hear my "been in a cab with Chris Lowe story!"...

Somewhat related. Who owns this?

I kinda wish I had an extended play album of PSB-style remixes, always the best

Hello, Brits warm up show / special concert with some filming at Shepherds Bush Empire.
Waiting for the Boys afterwards. I think I saw Neil first and Chris had yet to appear.
When Chris emerged as it was cold he said he would sign something but back at his cab.
In order to carry on communicating I stepped in the car with him I think as he'd suggested. He also introduced me to his mother (whom I've met a couple of times since them including at Sadler's Well)'. He said ''This is my Mum'' and in my slight nervousness I said ''Hello Mum!''
That's it. It all happened so fast that afterwards I had to keep pinching myself as it were to check that it really did!
