No, it won't even scratch the surface. She's got 4 different versions with different bonus tracks, on way more formats than Nonetheless. There's bonus physical editions, limited editions, her streaming numbers will be insanely high too. And there's no way she won't drop a surprise digital exclusive with some bonus tracks in week two.

Well I bought it, but who still owns/buys blu-ray players I guess it's still a thing. I still buy vinyl because of its nostalgic nature but blu-ray surely is going down the path of the CD/DVD era? And Apple Music offers so much in Dolby Atmos already. I like the collector vibe of this release though, although I need to find a way to rip these blu-ray tracks to digital...

I'm future proofing. I'd love to have a system that plays this properly, and one day I plan to, so wouldn't want to NOT get this and regret it later when I finally have the set up to play it properly.

I think the number of versions of this album just shows the amount of faith Parlophone have in it. If they thought it was a stinker I'm not sure they'd be putting this much effort into it.

Of course I could be wrong, and viewpoints may vary!

I think it's more faith in the fanbase than the record. There seems to be a market, so why not exploit it.

This kind of comment always makes me smile. Of course people have players, physical media has shrunk but that's across the board. Don't forget vinyl is nostalgic to you, in the same way somebody younger has those feelings over blu ray and steel books. I was born in 81 so I adore my vinyls, but my soft spot is for cassette and I have never thrown one away so have thousands of them, and multiple cassette players. My husband feels the same over minidisc. Yet both of us have flac players and a digital streaming hifi and built our own server for movies, TV and music so not technophobic either. Just like what we like.

So can someone explain - this is blu-ray audio? Does it play on a standard blu-ray video set up or is that an incompatible format (like UHD blu-ray 4K or whatever it is actually called)

It'll play on a regular blu-ray player. It's a regular bluray disc but with audio. The output format is Dolby Atmos, a normal 5.1 set can play that.

It's amazing what they can do now with hardened, lacquered horse shit. The process is called manurefacturing. May not play quite as well as vinyl, mind.

Ordered this one immediately. I love hq surround mixes but hate downloads, so physical only for me.

This clearly has added value, it's nothing like the cassette or strobe vinyl edition.

It's getting a bit funny, or silly now, depending on how you look at it.

All the best to anyone who finds particular appeal in this release. It makes more sense to me than the Zoetrope record. Obviously it's a release for the audiophiles amongst us, so I may as well put the question our here...does anyone have any thoughts on how this would stack up sonically to the 24-bit FLAC release we'll probably end up having available to us, as well?

As for me, I grew up listening to 16-bit CDs, and I doubt my hearing is getting any better over the years... so I'll let this one go through to the keeper, as well.
