Wilderness years?

It wouldn't surprise me if Neil's just had a bad chest infection. There's been a lot of colds and viruses going round the UK since the autumn. I've had three in this time - the latest of which caused me to lose my voice and sound croaky just like Neil does now as I was recovering. Took weeks getting over it.

It’s so odd , as since we all got vaccinated we’ve been more frequently ill.

Well, I know you're being sarky but best not to generalise. Many folk have been healthy post Covid, but how do we know Neil didn't suffer from the actual virus?

Definitely!! The wilderness years started with Very for me. I remember hearing Can You Forgive Her and I loved it! But then the whole album came out and I was very disappointed, as I liked only Can you forgive her?, The Theatre and Dreaming of the Queen, but the rest of the album sounded cheap (at that time) compared to their previous 4 masterpieces. Only these 3 songs sounded to me like the “real” PSB, the PSB that I liked.
Then came out Billingual and it was even worse, I liked only Discoteca and To Step Aside. This continued with Nightlife and Release where I liked only a few songs like Radiophonic, Samurai in Autumn. I realized that PSB have long changed and the sound that I truly liked could only be found in traces.
Then fortunately, Fundamental arrived and they got me back, forever, as I’ve never “left” and don’t plan to leave.

Hate's strong but "Yes" never gelled for me. I tried to revisit it last year and it just doesn't do anything for me, and some tracks rub me completely the wrong way. Definitely a PSB low point for me.

"Yes" vibes well with me, but I guess "Super" is the one I can't get into as an album. We are so lucky to have so many albums to choose from and can afford to not care for a few . Always good to see your posts Gabby, I'll forgive you for saying no to Yes

The b-sides from the Bilingual era are perhaps their best.
