But even when EMI "owned" the masters of the 80s material, any fees for mixes, videos etc would ultimately be deducted from royalties in the long run anyway.

Agree it's hard to judge from a 30 second clip, however I have a feeling Dancing star's appeal may be a bit front-loaded - sweet and nostalgic on first listen but with diminishing returns. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Yes, if it was in the contract, but that was not always the case for all acts. And if it was the royalty share could be higher.

And for what it’s worth, your retort may very well not have been aimed at me but it’s certainly a childish response to someone who is continually bullied on here for having a particular taste in their music and having a limited English vocabulary.
