An evening with the Pet Shop Boys and album preview

#1 Post by rashomon »

Managed to grab the last ticket for this event … was just randomly on the socials and saw a post from the boys and dropped everything to jump online.

Normally this forum is the lifeline for such comms but as we know it’s been down for the last few hours sadly.

Hope others here were lucky also 🤞🏽

Thank god the forum is back!!

I’m considering the live stream, it sounds like a great event, but would be in the middle of a working day for me - maybe I’ll “book a meeting” during that time…..

I saved the link and could be worth keeping an eye on this in case of returns ... dunno

Also, they will be doing a similar event in Manchester but no details yet

I booked a ticket for the live stream, but it’s unclear to me whether that includes the exclusive album play back. I suspect not as people would be able to record it.

Unbelievably I managed to get a front row seat for this - and a copy of the signed album! Hope others were successful too.

It doesn't for obvious reasons!

"Please arrive at 5.45pm to allow enough time to check in your phone with Yondr. Doors will open at 6pm and you will be manually checked in and advised your seat number by a member of staff. The album playback will take place from 6.30pm-7.15pm, after a short break the in-conversation event will begin at 7.30pm.

The in-conversation event is also being livestreamed, and will be available for you to view on demand for two weeks following the event date."

I bought the livestream ticket but i thought it would include an access to the playback of the album. It was not clearly mentionned that the stream would include only the Q and A part. Just 15 bucks spent for nothing.

In a crazy twist of events I would actually have been able to go to this, but decided in my busy schedule it was not to be. I considered the live-stream too but have decided against. Suspect that will be online somewhere within a day or so. For the sake of a few days I can wait to hear the album too.

So this should count as yet another format after LP, CD, 2CD, BR, zoetrope, coloured vinyl, cassette, t-shirt, and whatever.. it's getting crazy

Sorry, what are you talking about? This isn't another format. Don't be ridiculous.

And how is a t-shirt a format? We get it, you have problems with multiple formats, but you can solve it very easily by not buying them. Why the constant shitting on things other people are excited by?

Not true. You're supporting Grauniad journalists' upkeep of their second homes.

I think you’re being out of order here. They have to have somewhere where they can write articles for the Observer, on a Saturday, bemoaning capitalism, lack of affordable housing, anyone who mentions large levels of immigration may put push rents/property prices up, morality of public school education (apart for Jocasta and Tobes, I know we live in a gentrified area but still some of the locals kids attend the local comp), tax avoidance (yellow Autotrader)
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.
