Nonetheless album launch party in Melbourne, Australia

#1 Post by DopeFiend »

Similar to this viewtopic.php?t=34531 for the last album.
A Pet Shop Boys party to celebrate the release of the new album; ‘Nonetheless’. Melbourne DJ's AC Love & Sugar Plump Fairy will be playing PSB tracks from 'Nonetheless' alongside classic singles & album tracks, 12" mixes, b-sides, rarities, collaborations, covers and others all night long.

This one-off event will take place at UBQ on Smith Street in Collingwood from 7.30pm - 12.30am on Friday April 26.

So it's at U B Queer, 26th of April. $15 entry fee.
Hoping to see other Petheads there. The DJs will be playing the new songs along with other PSB tracks. It should be pretty awesome.

Of all places, Australia seems a slightly interesting place for such an event. I would expect it in the UK, Germany or Brazil.

What about the fan base size in Australia? I vaguely remember that the popularity of Pets peaked at around Absolutely Fabulous single (the highest charting single?)- Bilingual (peaked at number 3 entry) times but I do not have any idea for afterwards.

Hope the attendance is high and everyone has fun.

Greetings,

Sounds good! I wish them all the best. I'd probably come along myself were it not for me doing my regular Friday night nu-disco slot that night. That said, the Furthermore tracks sound pretty nu-disco... I might slip one or two of those into my set in solidarity. 8)

Thanks for sharing.

As for Pet Shop Boys in Australia, I doubt they've made all that many new fans since their last noteworthy hit, Se A Vida E. I'm sure they've kept many though. If the night is anything like the aforementioned one, expect fans in their 40s and 50s plus younger regulars of the venue.

Retro. :)

Hello my fellow Pet Heads - AC here - one of the hosts for Friday’s launch party.

Really pleased to report that the event is selling fast, and we’re getting pretty excited…

Warner Music (the Boys label in Oz), are providing some exclusive merch’ for the night that we’ll be (reluctantly) giving away.

I’ll post some pix. 🔺🔺

Best
