I’ve had a flick through the latest Radio times, to see what’s on the BBC4 night. Apart from a repeat of the Imagine Documentary, it seems to be pretty much the same as last years BBC2 night

Jo Whiley is to host An Evening with The Pet Shop Boys on her BBC Radio 2 show. Fans can hear it Thursday 25 April from 7.30pm on BBC Sounds.

Jo will be joined by Pet Shop Boys to co-host the show, talk about their new album Nonetheless and pick some of their favourite music.

Nonetheless is the fifteenth album by legendary duo Pet Shop Boys, who are Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. Produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Blur, Florence and the Machine), the album features 10 brand new tracks.

I think they're on BBC Radio 4's Front Row on Thursday.

Really lovely interview with them on Front Row (BBC Radio 4) tonight. None of this "So how did the two of you get together?", or "Wow, I'm such a fan!...". Just a very natural interview. Chris very complimentary about Neil's calibre as a performer.

6 Music - Lauren Laverne - 26 April 2024 - 08:30

The Pet Shop Boys join Lauren in the studio around the release of their fifteenth studio album, Nonetheless. The record is the duo’s first with producer James Ford, who has previously worked with artists including Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Blur, Gorillaz and Simian Mobile Disco. They will also be picking their favourite tracks for a very special Desert Island Disco.

If podcasts are allowed: :D

New @TalkArt! We meet the PET SHOP BOYS to explore their new album NONETHELESS!!!

Recorded in London’s Kings Cross, we chat to Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe about their history as the UK’s most successful pop duo, their mutual love of art, collaborations with artists throughout their 40 year career including Derek Jarman, Eric Watson, Wolfgang Tillmans, and most recently Tim Walker, plus we explore Neil’s interest for collecting & living with art.

From the TalkArt podcast, Neil discusses his art collecting and mentions that after selling his Durham House, he sold some of his paintings, one of which was Walter Crane's La Primavera. I looked it up, just to see the painting itself and saw that the Christie's lot listing is still online - https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-5807489. It went for a tidy sum!

Just got to this part in the podcast.

Interesting interview covering lots they don't often talk about. Neil's love of art, Tim Watkins etc.

Recommended.
