Coming from one of the most omnipresent posters on a fan forum for said act, one could almost call this irony.

They've changed how they write in recent years, haven't they? Neil writes the words and sends them to Chris, who sets them to music. Wrack my memory here, but isn't that a departure from how they used to write? I thought I read a while back that it was once the other way around, but maybe I'm hallucinating...

I think that historically the writing process has been Chris producing an entire piece of music he's written for Neil to set words to, or them being in a room together creating something from scratch, or Chris finishing some music that Neil has started. I believe that Neil "doing a Bernie" and sending the words through to Chris to write music for came out of the enforced separation of lockdown. Having just written that, wasn't that also going on during the 'Yes' writing sessions when Chris was packed upstairs at Xenomania towers to work on the music and Neil was in a separate room "lyricing"?
