People will just buy it… Whereas a lot of people can’t contain themselves and will download it from YouTube and maybe never get around to buying it

That’s not how it works with streaming platforms. There’s a lead time of several weeks. You can’t just change the release date.

Great documentary. Would love to have it as a special feature on the Dreamworld Blu-ray!

Loved the documentary the moments where Neil reads the lyrics to camera will stay with me. We are so lucky to have them at the moment. Can’t wait for KOKO club and ROH 3!!

As a follow on from this documentary BBC4 are having a PSB night tonight, and they have just had a very good hour and a half 'PSB performances at the BBC' show, which was really interesting. There was some good old interview snippets between the songs, and some performances I hadn't seen before. They even played Auf Wiedersehen over the closing credits !

Performances that were shown are listed below and the programme is on BBC iplayer for UK people who have been good citizens and paid for their tv licence !

1. West End Girls - Wogan Show 1985
2. What Have I Done to Deserve this ? TOTP 1987
3. Suburbia - Glastonbury 2000
4. Opportunities - TOTP 1986
5. Rent (with Jake Shears) Radio 2 Piano Room 2023
6. Losing My Mind - Wogan Show 1989
7. Left To My Own Devices Glastonbury 2022
8. Being Boring TOTP 1990
9. Where The Streets Have No Name Glastonbury 2022
10. I'm With Stupid TOTP 2006
11. Love Comes Quickly TOTP 1986
12. Can You Forgive Her TOTP 1993
13. Heart TOTP (just video for some reason) 1988
14. You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk TOTP 2000
15. Hello Spaceboy TOTP 1996
16. Getting Away With It TOTP 1989
17. Paninaro TOTP 1995
18. Go West Glastonbury 2022

I'm reassured by the fact Chris seems equally worried about ruining the tape. Hopefully that led to them immediately digitising the whole box of cassettes after the interview.

They must know that fans would pay top ££ if they were to release to release a definitive box set of all of the demos in those tapes. They could release a series based on each year of those tapes, 81-85. The artwork could replicate the cassette inlays and writing etc.
Its taken me all of my life to find you

I’m not sure why they would blow four months of brilliant build up by shoving it out early.
.

I know, thats the leakers job

Thoroughly enjoyed watching that again. A brilliant documentary film. I remember worrying in 1994 (when I was 11) that Liberation would be their last single.

2024. Wow.

Petheads are the best!!! I was finally able to find a way to watch it and now I can't stop grinning. So many little things to take away from the programme, it's hard to know where to begin, but here's your starter for ten:

CHRIS. Bloody hell, the lad is on fire here. I swear, he was put on this earth to keep Neil humble. (Neil is incredibly patient!) I hope Chris' superdry sense of humor comes across with the general viewing population.

I love Es Devlin's quote: "They're such a fortunate constellation of two humans."

I bought one of those rainbow posters at the Eden Project last year and when I took it for framing, the assistant said "Oh look, that's special - he made a mistake on the number", because one of the numbers had been rewritten. WELL NOW I KNOW WHY THAT HAPPENED - because there was a bloody great camera breathing down their necks as they were signing them!

Also got a kick out of the sequence where the punters are dancing to Vocal at the 1:08:42-ish mark, where someone is wearing a PWEI Sample It Loop It t-shirt, the likes of which I actually have in my own closet. :-o

Nice to hear Decide closing out the programme - what a perfect epic ending!

What does Neil say about the vegetables at the end? "The problem is, food has become so..." what??
For your own good, call me tonight.

I have seen quite a few videos on the PSB's origins, what makes this one so good is they managed to straddle the line to please both new fans and the old die hard ones. to watch them go thru old demos, thats total die hard fan service

I love Neil face at one point doing this and looking at Chris reaction, with a nasty smile.

I agree with you glenn. I actually got the dates mixed up and I somehow convinced myself it was coming out this week. I opened up Spotify Thursday night in Canada and was so disappointed and my foolish oversight.
Now I’m dying to have to wait another week! 🤪
