Several emails from eventbrite says that a recording will be sent out to allow (re)watching for two weeks. I assume it just hasn't been sent yet.y3potential wrote: Tue 23 Apr 2024, 1:51 pm I assumed if you purchased the livestream event that you could rewatch it at your own leisure.. Looks like I can't do this..

Re: An evening with the Pet Shop Boys and album preview
For the people who have heard the album: Burning the heather was supposed to be the key track of this album. Could this track fit on the album?
Re: An evening with the Pet Shop Boys and album preview
No, not as it is. It would need a soaring orchestral part to fit on Nonetheless.leesmapman wrote: Tue 23 Apr 2024, 2:44 pm For the people who have heard the album: Burning the heather was supposed to be the key track of this album. Could this track fit on the album?
One thing that struck me and my friend last night at the premiere was how FRESH the album sounds. I've never really understood the fan desire to always compare new tracks with previous ones, this forum as a lot of "This reminds me of that song, this could be on Actually" etc.
Nonetheless doesn't go back to a classic sound for them, nor does it hark back to past glories. It is a new, fresh sound for them.
Heaven is possible,
AFTER ALL.
AFTER ALL.

Maybe this is the best way to describe the new album.

Well, I wouldn't say "Dancing Star" is a fresh sound, it reminds the demo songs with Bobby "O". London Boy has a very 80's rap. According to the reviews, somes songs take references of songs from the 60's and 70's.Harry wrote: Tue 23 Apr 2024, 2:52 pmNo, not as it is. I suppose as a whole it sounds fresh because of the production.

For some reason the background music before the start and during the interval were all PSB collaboration songs.
At least the following were played, and presumably there were more.
Blur - Girls and Boys (PSB 12" mix)
PSB with Kylie - In Denial
Elton John - In Private
Claptone - Queen of Ice (PSB mix)
Jean-Michel Jarre - Brick England
Sam Taylor-Wood - I'm in Love with a German Film Star

Hotspot has Wedding in Berlin on it and not An open mind.
I get the sense James would have laughed Wedding in Berlin out of the studio.

Oh come on, give your head a wobble, it’s dire.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

The music played before the event was the Spotify playlist called “Pet shop sounds”. I could see the playlist when looking over my shoulder as I was sitting in front of sound booth on the last row.james23_uk wrote: Tue 23 Apr 2024, 3:06 pm For some reason the background music before the start and during the interval were all PSB collaboration songs.

It's the worst song they've ever done. Wasn't it written as a wedding gift and they decided to chuck it on the album?Alphonse wrote: Tue 23 Apr 2024, 6:41 pm Some people are REALLY obsessed with how much they hate Wedding in Berling. My god!
