The fifth single

An expanded edition of Nonetheless is clear and the fifth single too but we don't know anything about it. The release for the expanded edition is in November but is there something waiting for December?, a single?, an EP?. Maybe the answer is "no". But bear in mind they have been written many songs these last years and even with a fifth single you need more b-sides and more songs. I think Parlophone wants something for Christmas market.

Fifth single is going to be Schlager.

They’ll do a kitchen sink remix of it with sleigh bells and angelic choir. Pretty much what they did with All Over The World for the Christmas EP a few years back.

I hope it's not "...Dudes" - it's not a very strong cover version.

In fact I hope it's not anything on the expanded edition disc. Adrenaline seems to have achieved mythical status for some reason, but seems odd the Boys would pin their 2024 swan-song on something unfamiliar to the fans.

My money is still on a seasonal remix of "Schlager..." and like Seanyboy said a Christmas EP treatment could work really well. It's fun but edgy and will potentially shift more copies of the album to non-fans (which is the point isn't it?).

Anyway, I think an up-tempo or/and festive song has to be the next one. After songs like "A new bohemia" and "Feel", it's time for that.

I say Adrenaline.

Schlager seems the obvious choice given the Christmas season but then why release Chris' demo on Feel single and not keep for its own single? They even released sort of a video for the demo, which was unusual too.

It has to be Adrenaline. I wouldn't pick a cover as a single, especially since the last time one was an A-side was Somewhere, if I'm not mistaken. So, the chances of ...Dudes or The Dark End of the Street being chosen as one are statistically low. It also can't be one of the songs from the original tracklist as the aim is to sell Nonetheless (extended) rather than the original Nonetheless. Both the original album and the special edition will likely go on sale when Extended is released and if a song like Why am I dancing or New London boy is picked as the fifth single, people might just opt for the cheaper, original album instead of the new extended one.

No way it’s gonna be Schlager when they already just released the demo for it and Chris did a video for the demo too. So to me that song is kind of done already. If they were going to release that as the next single then why already release the demo and a video for it - that kind of takes the edge off any potential single release I think. Over-saturation of one song.

When they posted on the OS that the CD single for Feel was released, the last sentence in the blurb was ‘Will there be a fifth single?’ - which is an obvious tease for one more release!

There will be a fifth single or an EP. It probably won't be Schlager because of the demo being on Feel, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong. It's more likely to be Dudes or Adrenaline but could also be Love is the law. I really hope it isn't Why am I dancing? as it's the worst track on the album for me.
