Looked amazing. I'm not sure why Dudes isn't more loved, I think it's a great cover, although I listen to the Richard X mix most. He really should do the next album...

I get it's them singing their oldest and newest songs and all that. The performance was beautiful. The stage was beautiful. The sound was beautiful. But, paraphrasing Neil, expectations are your worst enemy. And I was expecting something different.
If this performance was unannounced and we just found out by surprise we'd all probably be raving about it.

To be fair I'm warming up to Dudes. And to be fair, I had never heard that song before. I'm sure it means a lot to many people. It's just new to me! Anyway, it's a beautiful song. I should listen to the original so I can compare.

PS: When is the next single dropping?
Look left, then right

I've watched it a couple of times now and it's PSB by numbers. It's a shame they didn't get more time to be able to do a medley a la The Brits 2009 to show what an amazing back catalogue they have.

People saying it's their first single and latest single - I don't think that's the case. I just think they've got a thing for ATYD because they've covered Bowie. Choosing a nothing special cover of a 50-odd year old song wasn't the best idea in my opinion to showcase the reason they got the award. Why not start with West End Girls and finish with Left to my own devices which would be the easiest and most obvious track to perform with an orchestra. Plus it's a miles better song than ATYD.

I agree with the comment re Richard X - how they haven't done an album with him is unbelievable. Maybe if they weren't fixated on the Stuart Price trilogy it might've happened. It might still, who knows. One can hope.

I love the original but am also warming to their cover. It makes it more explicitly gay - and surely the 'I'm a dude, dad' line is about coming out in this context.

Well that performance certainly elevated Dudes for me. I think the piano room performance must have been an early demo or something

Back working with Stuart Price! I wonder if it's because it was a "live thing"?

No they're not recording a new album and the Spinal Tap incident didn't happen this year. This article is made up from stuff two years ago. The "orchestral and euphoric" album they're referring to is Nonetheless.

"And the duo reveal they are already recording a new album as well as a theatre show - a genre which Neil also doesn’t hide his dislike for. He says: “The next album is different from the last three we made. It will be more orchestral and euphoric. We like the magic of euphoria as it drives us."

I guess the theatre show is the play Naked?

It looks like a mish-mash of different interviews, the Glastonbury retelling has been done before. I think the album reference was to Nonetheless as the 'three previous albums' would refer to the Price trilogy, not Nonetheless and two Price albums.

Don't worry, I can read.

I'm saying that it sounds like a rehashed quote from two years ago, the last three albums referring to the electric trilogy with Price. The line about Glasto is a giveaway. They have been working on Naked for several years now. Don't believe what you read in online tabloids.
