Be interesting to see how Neil and his fellow 🇺🇦 flag-displaying liberals react if Trump brokers a peace deal. :shifty:

Tearing Ukraine apart between USA and Russia and leaving Europe on it's own with their problem is not a peace deal.
Does anyone remember Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact? History is cyclic...

It's very dangerous (and effective!) to be convinced that you're automatically "on the right side of history". It can lead to never challenging or questioning your own assumptions, and to developing a learned inability to see other perspectives.
"to stand on the right side of history" is not a personal opinion, it's an assessment of history and previous decisions by different persons. If you support democracy, a smaller nation attacked by a dictator, if you raise your opinion against a demagogue.... well those are facts that will put you on the right side of history even if you loose the battle. Neil is by this definition standing on the right side of history. I never said that I did.

Yeah, please, invade a country, let the aggressor take the parts it currently occupies and call it peace! Oh, and guarantee that the invaded country can't get any protection in the future.

Peace deal from a guy who says to Ukraine "You should have never started it"...

If Trump brokers a peace deal, he'll get credit for it, because the left isn't in a cult. But the first step is getting all parties at the same table, and he hasn't even managed that yet. Too busy yielding to whatever kompromat Putin obviously has on him, as per usual.

Not sure where you are, but here in the UK, most people are “flag waving” for Ukraine… left, right, centre, Labour, Conservative, Liberal. It is not a cause for liberals, it is a cause for all. Let Russia take what it wants, and it won’t stop at current borders. You can be on the right and understand that… even while social media is flooded with disinformation.

Back to the release!
I was going to pre-order the CD from Amazon UK:
https://amzn.to/4btKoyk
but it seems it cannot be dispatched to my location (Italy)...
Since I always ordered tons of CD from Amazon UK without this problem, I thought abot a bug, but contacting the assistance they cannot give me a proper answer and just told me to wait to see if with time it becomes available for me.
Can you tell me if you are able to order it from a country outside UK?

It seems that it can be shipped in all countries except for the European ones...
I'm sure it's a glitch, but I reported it to Amazon and they haven't amended it...

I live in the US and have ordered here:

Reasonable price and shipping, and these days, I try to avoid Amazon as much as possible

This is an interesting piece. I'm fairly confident I won't be buying this (3 formats including Ltd vinyl) but the concept does intrigue me.

Hopefully there's a lot of Goyas pictures that inspired the work to look at as you listen.

Finally...an official confirmation:

https://www.petshopboys.co.uk/news/2025 ... -of-reason

"Composer Mark Springer’s forthcoming new album, “Sleep of Reason”, which includes a collaboration with Neil Tennant, is now available to pre-order on double vinyl and CD exclusively at the Bandcamp link below.

The album is planned for release in April 2025 and consists of three major pieces inspired by the Spanish artist Francisco Goya: a piece for solo piano, a string quartet and a quintet for voice and strings. Mark Springer plays the piano, the Sacconi String Quartet perform the quartet and they are joined by Neil Tennant on vocals for the quintet. The opening track “Phantoms and Monsters” can be listened to now at the Bandcamp link."
