Posters - A question about hanging the PSB on your wall

#1 Post by the8thark »

I am asking this for myself but possibly others might find the answer to this question useful as well. Helping others out as well who also want a poster.

-----

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a PSB poster to frame and put on my wall.
I do like the YES artwork and have been looking for that as a poster but have come up empty handed in terms of finding one to buy.

So my question to you is in two parts.
1. Does anyone know if the YES cover can be bought as a poster?

2. Is there any other PSB album art or other promotional images you would recommend as a framed wall poster?
My only criteria for Q2 is something that actually exists as a poster and can be purchased somewhere in the world and shipped to me.

I would prefer an officially made poster but if that's not possible then a fan designed one is ok.
The fan designed ones are not not ideal, as in I'd prefer an officially designed piece of artwork but a fan designed one is bette than nothing.

Thank you in advance.

The official store has a couple of posters available - SMASH and Dreamworld. The SMASH one is a lenticular print which looks quite nice. If you want something official these might be a good place to start:

There was a Yes poster sold during Pandemonium dates, though I think the actual text was about the tour rather than the album (so it might have said something like "pet shop boys on tour 2009/10" rather than "yes, pet shop boys"). Same artwork though - would prob be quite easy to find on eBay, I have mine under the bed somewhere.
I must disengage your recreational music.

This is rather nice:

The seller also has a range of other PSB albums in the same style, quite tempting!

There's also this one, a bit too abstract perhaps:

I've been looking for the Being Boring photo from the video shoot of the cast with Neil & Chris for years now. It was available during the Performance Tour, and I regret not buying it ever since..

Used to have the Actually poster on my bedroom ceiling as a teenager. Typical 80s teenager with walls covered with 80s posters...Coca Cola, Top Gun, some vaguely risqué scantily clad females pretending be be "art".

Good luck in your search!

Have you considered buying a copy of Yes on vinyl and then framing that? There are many places online and that have 12" album art frames. Actually I have a few signed 12" art cards from PSB, Saint Etienne and Ladytron all displayed together.

My largest poster is an original So Hard single front cover subway poster - its enormous. I got it off eBay but I misunderstood the measurements mm vs cm  its almost life size

That's like a Spinal Tap scene in reverse.

I'm seriously contemplating dropping cash on one of these:

Not an official PSB poster but a nice art piece. The theater does/did this for other shows too as their own art series.

This was rereleased as a limited edition poster last year. Presumably a bootleg, but very high quality, it looks official. If you hunt around, you might be able to find one. I think the link was posted here ages ago, that's how I got mine.

Gabby I think you mentioned you had bought the lenticular Smash poster. Is it worth it?
I was thinking of getting it.
