Re: Annually 2025
Yeah that annoyed me too tbh. They make a deal about asking for questions every year and all we get is 4 questions - one of which has definitely been answered before - would either of you ever have a moustache or a beard? I mean, wtf is that question? Are they 9 years old? It’s like a Smash Hits question. Why don’t people ever ask what we want to know, like when tf are they releasing MCMLXXXIX tour on DVD, which they pretty much said was in discussion to be released - about 3 editions ago!! I don’t care about multiple pages of lyrics, that’s just filler and you can get those anywhere online. What a waste.tottenhammattspurs wrote: Fri 04 Apr 2025, 1:25 pm Four questions. Two pages. Re: Annually 2025
Lyrics and discography information should absolutely be included, since Literally/Annually is the official record of the Pet Shop Boys. If the page count is static, the Q&A will expand and contract as required.
Re: Annually 2025
I agree. With this in mind, don’t you think it’d be cool if they compiled the information sheets etc and issued publications covering 1984-1989? It’s a fan project waiting to happen.NotInvisible wrote:Lyrics and discography information should absolutely be included, since Literally/Annually is the official record of the Pet Shop Boys. I think they should compile Literally into a series of hardcovers and sell them online.Dog wrote: Fri 04 Apr 2025, 1:55 pmWith this in mind, don’t you think it’d be cool if they compiled the information sheets etc and issued publications covering 1984-1989? It’s a fan project waiting to happen.

Re: Annually 2025
I do enjoy the whimsical questions, I am not that interested in remixes or box sets or big release info, we'll get that information when we get it, or questions with yes/no answers. Repetition is annoying though and I guess that's why mine have never been answered as they're too similar. Or just too silly.

Re: Annually 2025
I asked the Taylor Swift question, although my original message has been edited down. Originally my question was:
Amongst the many interviews Neil and Chris carried out in 2024, the press reaped much clickable content from Neil's comments about Taylor Swift (“What Is Taylor Swift’s ‘Billie Jean’?”). I wondered if the online reaction took Neil and Chris by surprise, and also, would they agree that perhaps the only way to smooth out any potential ill feeling is for Pet Shop Boys to record a duet with Taylor Swift of 'What have I done to deserve this?'
The second bit is admittedly tongue-in-cheek, although having said that I reckon my suggestion could have been a big hit...

Re: Annually 2025
Massively underwhelmed by this year's book. News section is nothing we didn't already know, the features are pointless, no news on future projects/reissues/Disco 5/Nude, and a laughable letters section. This is only the second time in 38 years of being a massive, devoted fan that I've wanted my money back. The first was when I bought Disco 2. This Annually is the Disco 2 of fan club releases!!! Just feels like they could have skipped a year when hopefully in 2026 there might be something more interesting to report.
The future is the present now. Music must be played.

I’d vastly prefer this to skipping a year. I really appreciate the discography notes, the lyrics and the song commentary. Letters are fun but they’re the most disposable part to me.

Uh oh... I heard it was bad, but "Disco 2 bad"?.. whoa!scousepsbfan wrote: Fri 04 Apr 2025, 10:22 pm This is only the second time in 38 years of being a massive, devoted fan that I've wanted my money back. The first was when I bought Disco 2.
They've just come out of a very busy period, I guess. But given it's a fan-specific magazine I'm surprised they've struggled to produce content. It'd be so easy to create insider content.

Re: Annually 2025
Mine arrived this morning. Maybe I'm easily pleased but I have no complaints. There's been so much press and quite a lot on social media this past year, so maybe more of the content than usual is repetition, but generally we have a lot to appreciate as a fandom, IMO.
