Because of MJ's big album sales it meant not as many people needed to buy the singles? MJ never had new songs on b sides or even remixes sometimes. We got much more value for money with PSB releases!tottenhammattspurs wrote: Mon 31 Mar 2025, 7:48 pm New Song and What Is Love sold more than Thriller and Billie Jean? Wow!

What a great topic. Thank you Tentenlad.
I am pleasantly surprised that Always on my mind sold 3 million copies globally. That's a very respectable number. That's why critics call it a career peak.
Could you check the figures for U2 and Roxette, please?
I am also surprised to see Brother Louie by Modern Talking sold so many copies. They always used to whine that the British audience ignored them on purpose

Their US chart performance is very impressive as well, blowing the figures by the Boys and other UK bands out of water and only rivaled (and topped) by Duran Duran probably.markus wrote: Tue 01 Apr 2025, 9:48 pm Who knew Karma Chameleon was so huge? Was it in Rambo 2 where Sylvester Stallone's daughter had a poster of Boy George on the wall? I was like yeah right they were just being supportive, but Culture club were actually massive for a while. I played through their greatets hits while at the sauna the other night. Really great band!PSBForTheMasses wrote: Sat 19 Apr 2025, 7:21 pmTheir US chart performance is very impressive as well, blowing the figures by the Boys and other UK bands out of water and only rivaled (and topped) by Duran Duran probably.markus wrote: Tue 01 Apr 2025, 9:48 pm Who knew Karma Chameleon was so huge? They were also famously in The A-Team, though disappointingly George was playing himself rather than a former Nam vet on the run from the military.markus wrote: Sun 20 Apr 2025, 1:17 amWas it in Rambo 2 where Sylvester Stallone's daughter had a poster of Boy George on the wall?
