Quiet in the PSB camp
Quiet in the PSB camp
So we're a little over a month away from the relaunch of the Dreamworld concerts.
The BlueRay was pushed back, and what releases we've seen this year could largely have been completed or produced before we even got to 2025. What little we have seen has been around Naked, and the unexpected "Hymn" track which by their own admissions was knocked out fairly quickly. Neil appeared at the Anne Dudley thing. Chris is completely AWOL.
The last 5-6 months for PSB has been really relatively quiet otherwise I would suggest.
Where's the "Since 1984" gear that was touted?
It seems unlikely to me Neil and Chris will just be sitting back having a cuppa.

Quiet in the PSB camp
Last year was obviously one of the busiest ever in terms of PSB activity, so this one was always going to be comparatively fallow. But it’s still far from barren.
So far this year:
Primal Scream remix
Tina Turner remix
The Hidden Cameras remix
Hymn
Sleep Of Reason (Neil’s contribution here) is pretty immense
Anne Dudley concert
Annually
Yes much could have been completed last year but that’s always the case.
Still to come:
Kae Tempest collab
Discography reissue
Dreamworld Blu-ray
Dreamworld live dates
Since 1984 merchandise?
Three larger projects we’re expecting to hear about:
The Parlophone complete single reissue project for streaming services (you’ve got to hope this is imminent)
Naked (I actually think this will still be some time off)
Volume (seems now to be March 2026, presumably to tie in with Please 40th anniversary)
One thing I was wondering about - wouldn’t it be cool to have an exhibition to tie in with Volume - a complete career retrospective in terms of clothing and artefacts etc?
There’s always plenty going on!

Hot Chip remix? What's that? I haven't heard anything about a remix of PSB by Hot Chip or vice-versa. I must be out of the loop on this one.

Yeah surprisingly quiet especially with the summer shows due and non sold out.

Re: Quiet in the PSB camp
Usually when it’s quiet on the PSB front it’s because they’re writing. We’ve seen evidence of this with a social media post last summer showing their portal writing gear backstage and also with the release of the recent “Hymn” piece. Likely they’re writing for “Naked” but as we’ve seen throughout their career there are always byproducts to their process which usually end-up on other projects or releases.
In spite of their longevity it appears there is still much ahead in PSB world.

Well, exactly what I thought. Can't help feeling there's a major drop coming in 2025.

The digital singles program would be a good way to kill some time before the next big new release. Plus (as somebody who never collected their singles physically) it'll be great to finally have all the mixes that weren't on the Further Listening sets.

Re: Quiet in the PSB camp
The problem with Dreamworld being delayed is that it has potentially pushed back any later release planned for the year. Anyway I'm taking a year off being a fan after all the excitement of last year.

Re: Quiet in the PSB camp
I wonder just how much hype would be given to the singles reissues? Other artists that have undertaken similar projects seem to just 'drop' the singles packages with little to no acknowledgement. Of course, PSB aren't quite like other artists, but I wonder if they'll just release them with a basic announcement on the day. It didn't sound like they were too involved in this one.
I'd hate to see the delay to Dreamworld push these out any further, but I'd understand if it pushes back any 'new' projects they're working on.
