And Chris had the wrong hat on for the encore.

He said they had red snapper for dinner, ten nights in a row 'because the money hadn't come through yet'. Also said Chris was really good at dominoes (depressingly my phone tried to autocorrect that to a popular pizza chain that I frequent too often). And a few other bits but am hoping someone will have footage.petshopgrrl wrote: Sun 31 Aug 2025, 8:39 pmWell come on then, spill the tea!Vintage Youth wrote: Sun 31 Aug 2025, 1:19 pm Loads of ad-libbing from Neil! What was the extra info? And was there actual shenanigans going on with the hat, or was Chris just changing things up a bit!?
Some crew had to come out and sweep water off the stage and there was a bit of banter about that. He also asked someone in the crowd 'are you a Geordie?' which was hilarious, as the person in question is very much Scottish.
The hat thing.... Chris came on for West End girls and was pointing at his hat (Shiny house music hat not West End girls BOY hat) and seemed a bit ticked off. Neil just did a big open armed shrug like 'what ya gonna do" with a big smile. Not sure if genuine mistake/he grabbed the wrong one, wardrobe messed up or it was a last day of term-style joke.

Neil had to banter up so the mop guys could work their magic. Breaking out the Geordie accent too! And Chris getting all shy.
RIP Pete. Forever part of the PSB legend.

Wasn't it Pete who was good and used to do the victory dance?Vintage Youth wrote: Sun 31 Aug 2025, 10:56 pm

Neil almost seemed to lose the plot of the story to my recollection!,

Yes, the point was that Pete kept beating Neil and even Chris, even though he was really good at the game...it's in the YouTube vid that petshopgrrl postedSandy Shaw wrote: Tue 02 Sep 2025, 12:07 pmWasn't it Pete who was good and used to do the victory dance?Vintage Youth wrote: Sun 31 Aug 2025, 10:56 pm

Re: DREAMWORLD Greatest Hits Tour 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 & now 2026
I've noticed how Neil's Domino Dancing anecdote is tailored to an assumed social class of the audience. My first Dreamworld was Hull, and on mention of the Caribbean holiday the whole audience went all kind of ironic "well aren't you lucky", and in response Neil emphasised the shack-like accommodation. At the other end of the spectrum in Stockholm, the Caribbean became "St Lucia", the crowd listened approvingly, and Neil's like, "You've all been there, it's beautiful, blue sea and sky...". In the UK he's tended to downplay the standard of the accommodation

Nobody in Sweden has been to St Lucia, noone even knows where it is. Nobody even cares. If swedes travel to the Caribbean, they go to all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic and get hammered.Gnomic wrote: Sun 07 Sep 2025, 3:02 pm I've noticed how Neil's Domino Dancing anecdote is tailored to an assumed social class of the audience. Fair enough, nul points to me. He said "Caribbean" in Stockholm then. And he definitely said "You've all been there", not something he would have said in Hull.

Maybe he was refering to the swedish socialist movement and communists and their trips to Cuba back in the day. Mocking the swedes that they are all a bunch of castroists.Gnomic wrote: Sun 07 Sep 2025, 11:13 pm Fair enough, nul points to me. He said "Caribbean" in Stockholm then. Maybe he's familiar with swedes celebrating Santa Lucia before Christmas and assumes it's from that Island.

The first Japan date at the beginning of January was announced over a month ago. At the same time, there was an announcement that further dates would follow soon. Since then, there has been complete silence on the matter. Other artists already have presales running for shows that are much further in the future. The Japan tour is supposed to take place in three months, and yet the dates have not even been published, let alone the presale started. Seems a bit strange to me.

You'd think he'd have an anecdote about other songs. Hardly Peter Ustinov, is he?y3potential wrote: Thu 14 Aug 2025, 8:37 am I've seen Dreamworld seven times in the past three years and personally I'm over it now. I'm aware that some people in certain parts of the world haven't been able to attend one, but I really think it's time for something different and fresh now. Yes, financially it's a no brainer for Neil and Chris. Pile the hits high and sell 'em to the masses, but I always thought they were a bit different from all the others (it's why I love them). This is the band that had the guts to tour Performance after all, but if I hear Neil's Domino Dancing story once more, I may not be responsible for my actions...
