Takes the lyrics back to the religious area, Gain's mother seems to have been monumentally f-ed up.
"Mother forgive me, I tried not to do it"

Re: Pet Shop Boys it’s a sin
Can we put some effort into our posts...
So, It's A Sin has been reworked for the trailer for Netflix series Monster: The Ed Gein Story.
The mix is titled 'It's A Sin (Bryce Miller Monster Mix)'.
It's number 2 on the movies trending category of Youtube. Over 2.2 million views and counting.
My reaction: I loved seeing this. The song in this context.
I love that it's part of the trailer as a regular song almost as if it just came out.
Watching this a couple of days ago really had an impact on me. I feel I appreciate the song more than ever.

Who knows? Maybe a new revival of "It's a Sin". It was used for the series of the same title and for a videogame.DopeFiend wrote: Sun 21 Sep 2025, 7:29 pm Can we put some effort into our posts...

Greetings,
I don't particularly like it, but in my usual completist manner, if it gets a digital download release, I'll buy it.
Retro.

Re: Pet Shop Boys it’s a sin
I don't want to start a controversy here, I just need to express how I feel about this:
We are now swimming in a flood of "True Crime" shows, docs and podcasts the platforms are constantly pouring down on us. It really disturbs me.
Reading the comments under the YouTube trailer for this one made me cringe: Most viewers are getting ready for a really good bit of gruesome fun...
I always loved horror and thrillers, don't get me wrong. But this particular sort of content is turning real-life pain and suffering into entertainment, without any regards for the (real) victims, and with a tendancy to turn (real) murederers into tragic figures we need to understand better... To me this is a problem. Maybe this shouldn't be entertainment.
Watching these, either we are so desensitized we forget it actually happened to real people, or, worse, the "True Story" aspect adds to the frisson, which says even darker things about human nature.
I don't know what saddens me the most : the cynicism of the media who produce these contents, or the fact that they invariably gain a huge audience, proving the platforms are right, economically speaking, to produce ever more.
I love the PSB, and I know they have a strong sense of ethics. Why they thought it was ok to take part in this, I don't know, but I must say I'm really surprised and to be honest, quite disappointed to find them here.
