It’s Carroll Thompson “Let The Music Play” which PSB produced for the 1992 Crying Game soundtrack. Don’t quote me, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be included on Disco 5.
Woof.

Well spotted! I thought I recognised it but couldn't put the finger on it.

Disco releases have tended to be somewhat thematic (loosely I hasten to add) so does this suggest an album of only PSB produced tracks as opposed to those remixed and/or PSB written?

Some speculation...

Yeah, it's Let The Music Play. Produced by PSB in 1993 for the Crying Game Soundtrack. So presumably it's some form of re-release.

It's interesting how they're finding the most obscure PSB releases and reissuing them. 2 years ago was Relentless. Recently was Battleship Potemkin, in the works is the Alan Turing project 'A Man From the Future'.
I do like how they teased this on social media, out of nowhere.

I wonder what the release will be?
It could be the whole soundtrack being reissued.
But PSB only produced 4 of the 16 tracks.
Or it could just be this 1 song, potentially in various forms.

Reminder, there's a 12" promo of Let the Music Play, previous discussed here:
viewtopic.php?t=22424

A Let The Music Play (Extended Mix) 10:07
B Let The Music Play (Ambient) 6:32

https://www.discogs.com/release/1248793 ... usic-Play-

This remains quite obscure and essentially unreleased.

It's this a wish of yours or do you actually know that it's about Disco 5.
I admit that the leaked information indicates that, but is there anything else out there that makes you sure?

Sorry for being cryptic. I know that they have been compiling Disco 5 and I knew that Let The Music Play was earmarked for it. I’ll have to leave it there. I don’t know anything more.

I didn't know this song so i thought it could be a new album.
I hope it's Disco 5 at least.

Hm, the Disco 5 theme would then be "music produced for others" or incidental music perhaps. Hope it does not include the usual suspects Liza, Dusty, Robbie etc but some of the rarer tracks. Love the Crying Game soundtrack btw.

Big fan of the Disco series, still waiting for a nice box set that collects them all in remastered format. Disco 1 is probably my favourite all-time PSB record, it gets played on vinyl and/or CD twice a month at least. Bought the vinyl record in 1986 so that is a lot of spins.

(I’m just spotted this has already been called out in a post above, apologies)

Of course we already know of the existence of both an extended mix and an ambient version of Let The Music Play, both by PSB - available on this white label:
