Bumped into Neil this evening at Sigur Ros at Royal Albert Hall. I said "I suppose I'll have to attend Lytham" he replied "The never ending tour!". It made my day to see him, I have a suspected abcess and yesterday I lost a signed biography of Oscar Wilde. I'd been feeling a bit sorry for myself.

I have a warped little theory. Well, maybe it's not so much a "theory" as a fervent wish. Maybe the Boys are doing their best to get people sick and tired of hearing their hits in concert. Then, in another year or two, when they decide to go out on the road with a new show that consists of nothing but deep-dive album cuts, b-sides, and other relative obscurities, people will breathe a massive collective sigh of relief: "Thank GOD they're not playing any of their hits!"

I won’t spoil it for you by telling you how they came up with the idea for Domino dancing.zukunft wrote:Lytham booked. Anticipation.

I have no problem with the boys touring the same hits show. It's spectacular and entertaining.
If it all stopped in the morning, we would all miss it terribly.

Really?!? It‘s going to be my Dreamworld show #23 and the reason for attending it is because I forgot how they came up for Domino Dancing.Dog wrote: Fri 03 Oct 2025, 6:28 pmI won’t spoil it for you by telling you how they came up with the idea for Domino dancing.zukunft wrote:Lytham booked. See this tour as their ABBA Voyage/Mamma Mia or We Will Rock You. Only it travels the world and they take part still!
I’ve seen it a few times and look forward to catching it again next year. It’s great fun. x

By 2030 they'll tour it with Chris as a hologram. They'll have had a decade for AI to have learned his parts and occasional body movements.

Open (or close) with Adele, go on the piss with her afterwards.Gabby wrote: Wed 01 Oct 2025, 10:51 pmI tend to understand how touring a new album has limited appeal from a non-fan perspective but let's face it, PSB live has mostly been a stroll through the hits for many many years now.markus wrote: Wed 01 Oct 2025, 9:52 pm They can't go back to normal when they release the next album, they'll just perform the new singles and continue this tour. It's their Las Vegas residency, like a circus that always travels around the world and gives everyone their moneys worth. Why change the concept from now?
I'd almost rather they do a Vegas residency actually.

Hello from Down Under. They still haven’t been here yet. As well I am in the place they thought was boring when they last came in the 90s to this city

Wahey, me too! Two in the garden. Mr Petshopgrrl is coming too this year!
Oh, ya just casually tossed THAT in there, didn't you, Sandy! Funny, I read that way too fast and thought it was NEIL who said "I suppose I'll have to attend Lytham".Sandy Shaw wrote: Thu 02 Oct 2025, 11:40 pm Bumped into Neil this evening at Sigur Ros at Royal Albert Hall. I don't care how many times I've seen it, I'll be there if I can. It's always a lot of fun. BTW who booked up all the rooms in the Lytham St Annes Travelodge? It's like 300 quid a night now. I had to go right down to the seedier end of town
