It'll be 40 years (and a bit since) the release of Please which must be significant.

Pretty sure they'll play stuff they have played before, otherwise it would have been advertised as such. Good thing too. Why wouldn't they ever want to play Two Divided By Zero again?!

Yes, surely means a third B-sides compilation next year - and hopefully the digital single reissues too.

I know the speculation regarding set list etc will be fun to read, however I'm also wondering how they will present themselves.. Will it be them as a duo (my personal preference), or will the Pop Kids musicians be utilised..? Or perhaps something completely different...

Yes. I had the vision of Whistle Test in my head.. Just Neil & Chris and those old machines...🙏🏻

Interestingly it only states that "full details and ticket information" on Wednesday, not necessarily tickets on sale on Wednesday.. My hunch is a bun fight probably on Friday morning..

Some Speculation!

Some further speculation: please let there be a live recoding to coincide with a new b-sides compilation...

I hope it's a bit like the Barfly shows in 2004, which I missed!
The future is the present now. Music must be played.

Under fan favorites I would guess "The Way It Used to Be" since it came in at #2 on the Geowayne poll, and Neil has mentioned that.

"Decide" would be great for a Chris track, but "One of the Crowd" is so silly, I'd love to hear him do it now. (Not that I will hear it unless they release a recording!)

To me there's somewhat of a paradigm in predicting what will be played. When we expect it, it seems less obscure.
So I'm hesitant, but upon seeing this announcement my brain automatically started thinking about what they may do.
I think of previous tours, where they've performed rare and even exclusive tracks.
I'm fully expecting them to perform something we've never heard them do, such as a unique cover version or previously demoed but unreleased track.

It's fun listening to my playlists now and wondering ooo maybe they'd do this live in PSB Obscure.
Decide, A Red Letter Day, were two I heard and pictured.
A request I'd make is Tonight Is Forever. That's a brilliant 80s pop song that they've never performed in full, only a small reprise as the intro for Discovery. There are so many great album tracks they can do though, My October Symphony, Hoping For a Miracle, Vulnerable, I Want A Dog, I Want to Wake Up.
And you've got b-sides, and "fan favourites".
I'm expecting DJ Culture. Fans love that song and we need at least 1 song with spoken vocals.

‘We’re the Pet Shop Boys’???
It's happened before. So I wouldn't say that's likely.
Yes it's an obscure track, but they've used it at the start of concerts previously so I don't see the point of repeating that.
In my opinion it's also not that good of a song. Need to think larger!

All My Wasted Time....
You Know Where You Went Wrong
To Face The Truth
One Of The Crowd
Jack The Lad
Decide
True! Add In His Imagination and You've Got To Start Somewhere or the similar For Every Moment.
Do we think they'll do Disappointed? It's technically not a Pet Shop Boys song.
Ooo, That's My Impression? I've always loved that song, it sounds so dark.
I think Don Juan is obligatory for these shows titled Pet Shop Boys: Obscure.

After reading the 'Bobby O - Mixed Up World' thread I was imagining PSB covering it live.
By the way speaking of rap-style songs. New London boy (Boy Harsher remix) is a fan favourite.

Oh my god... That does sound good.
I do agree, I'm okay with the other musicians being behind the scenes and there's just Neil & Chris on stage.
I think it probably comes down to their own comfort levels. Maybe they don't want too much attention?
Ultimately PSB is just the two of them and it's meant to be an intimate show.
