I think that who bought/preordered the book will receive an email with an unique code to be used while buying the Obsure tickets.

That was my first thought (having bought the book)... but after my purchase I received no info about the pre-sale. It's only when I used the link earlier in the thread that I got an email stating I'd registered for pre-sale.

Having been a fan since '88, the thought of missing this gig scares the crap out of me. It's literally my dream(world) concert - pardon the puns.

It isn’t for show or to be seen to get around legal technicalities, a ‘no purchase necessary’ request is for real - anyone registering for that must be sent a working link and code , in good faith, just the same as anyone who purchased ‘the thing’. In that sense, it is effectively true that a person didn’t need to purchase Volume to get a pre-sale access.

I found out about the ltd edition book from an email from the Volume website, as I had previously bought a book in 2023. So I was on their mailing list, thankfully. It was also quicker buying the PSB book as all I had to do was login, and pay.

I think it's a confusing coincidence that the website selling this new book happened to have the same title as the book! I mean what were the chances? I was confused that there was no check out as a guest option which I always use on the PSB store. Took me a moment to even realise I wasn't on the PSB store.

As others have said, it’s a legal issue and Warner’s are covering themselves. I tried to buy limited book and was redirected to Warners Ireland website, which the official uk shop does automatically. It is poorly stocked at the best of times, hence no book, watched countdown from 700 to 0 copies! Apologies that should read two divided by zero…
When signing up for pre sale that’s why they ask which country….my take on it is the 750 who bought book will get a different code then the no purchase necessary code.

No, as others have said, the no purchase necessary people and the book people will end up swimming in exactly the same presale pool. It’s a requirement of the 2005 Gambling Act.

Yep to double, triple quadruple reassure worried fans, even though some of us were lucky enough to purchase the signed edition, there is no pecking order. In fact my confirmation prompted me to register via the "no purchase" link!'

This is standard practice. It’s the law. You can’t offer a ticket presale offer for book buying customers without offering a no purchase necessary offer. If you have a problem, it’s with the law, not Pet Shop Boys.

I guess the way to think about it is, the “no purchase necessary” option wouldn’t exist without the book offer. But with the book offer, it has to exist. It’s not the main event, it’s a legal byproduct. So it doesn’t get the same attention. The whole thing is of course, when all is said and done, a marketing exercise.
