Look at the Hymn 'single'. That's something I have no interest in ever hearing (because the idea is so cringey) yet it's on sale for a ridiculous amount on ebay. Guys, you used to be about the music.

They still are. It's not like there haven't been rare items since the 1980s. The complaining is cringey.

Yes they had "rare" items in the 80's and 90's but they were things like remix 12"s for a few quid, not £600 tea sets, £95 books, Yes and Electric vinyl box sets etc etc etc.

There's no money in yer actual "music" anymore and they know it, that's why they're on the neverending Dreamworld tour, charging £111 for Obscure tickets, £95 for the book - all of which are peddling the back catalogue. Sad to say it but they've not been about the music for years.

What do we think the typical percentage of pre-sale tickets is for gigs/concerts? If, for example it's 10%, that'd be (up to) 750 tickets across all five nights. Meaning we could all be fighting for less than 150 tickets for each date on Wednesday morning!

What was the point of stating that purchasing the book will quality you to the priority ticket access when "no purchase necessary" was hidden away at the bottom of the announcement, other than to mislead...??
The irony being that most of us would have purchased the book regardless..

I can see in the source code they made the font size of the asterisk 75% smaller.
They've deliberately made it as less visible as possible, disguising the link next to the FAQ link too.

Surely this is against consumer laws to state "PRE-ORDER ‘VOLUME’ FOR EXCLUSIVE PRIORITY TICKET ACCESS TO ‘OBSCURE PET SHOP BOYS’ CONCERTS AT LONDON’S ELECTRIC BALLROOM"
with the word exclusive.

I always keep the URL for the UK store handy and almost use it exclusively - I hate that it goes direct to Warner US/Canada.

Agreed, 2012 and 2013 gave us 2 albums and 13 b-sides. Every album comes with almost a full album of b-sides and then there's the side projects. They are extremely productive.

if fans get tickets they will travel whatever the location
i hate arena gigs i'd much rather they did at halls/theatres (Kraftwerk are doing this next year) especially for these kind of concerts which are for the "real fans" rather than people who like their hits i could go with the wife to watch a dreamworld concert as she will know the hits anf enjoy it but i can just see her face if i trook her to this when they drop sound of the atom splitting

We're fantastically lucky as fans that they are still active - but not everything their record company monetises is of huge interest to everyone. I think Volume is essential. They've had another career since Catalogue. An update is well overdue, and I look forward to it. Obscure is a great idea - but only a fraction of the fanbase will get to see it. I think that's a pity - but, hey, first world problems. None of us is entitled to see it. I'm delighted they are doing something different.

Disco 5? Nah, not for me. I think it's one of those "worthwhile" releases in that it brings a lot of disparate stuff together and is, therefore, collectible, but, personally, much of what's on it is less than essential. For me, this is a "catalogue" release - something one might feel obliged to eventually purchase to add to the collection - but it completely lacks excitement. At least for me.

That's sort of the issue I have at the moment: What they do that is exciting seems unattainable and what is attainable lacks excitement. But I've always been a cherry-picker when it comes to PSB. I've never been a completist. I curate rather than collect. So, I'm sanguine about all of this and the reality that we are approaching the final lap now because, as we reach the bell, look at the strewn bodies of contemporaries littering the sand trap and the in-field, some in coffins. The PSB chug defiantly along to a cheering crowd waving its wallets at Parlophone.

A brand new EP would be lovely.
