It seems to me that these differences must have been an artistic choice, but then it is a bit peculiar that they are not mentioned in "Catalogue".

Beyond the product code I guess it's another way to tell the covers apart (especially from the angle of illegal reproduction).

I think the whole point of the thread was to mark subtle differences that people may not have noticed. There's plenty of different covers by format, remember Super? But everybody's noticed those already ;-D

And yep, I had no noticed the different screencaps from Always on my mind. I love that the cassette pic is Joss Ackland going for the car radio which, at the time, would have had a cassette player! ;-D

Yes, I think we're talking almost unnoticeable differences that are still intentional.

It's a good job I didn't know this all back in 1987, otherwise I would have spent A LOT of money on all the different physical formats most likely.

Interesting. I don’t think I have noticed that before. She seems to have been erased from most or all formats using a zoomed-in version of the photo.

To be honest there are loads of subtle and not so subtle sleeve variants dependent on format and location: West End Girls, Please, Suburbia, Actually, Always On My Mind, Heart, Being Boring, Behaviour, Where The Streets Have No Name (ICTMYOY), Can You Forgive Her?, Go West, Se a Vida E, Release, I'm With Stupid, Together, Leaving, Super...the list is quite long.
