Re: Our dreams for Obscure after the 5 shows at EB
Could Obscure perhaps be the first in a series of short-form experiences? Next, we could have a cosy, red-velveted, lounge experience called Nonchalant.
Look at my hopes, look at my dreams...

There are audience facing professional mikes on stage left and right facing the crowd so they are not only recording the performance, they are recording the ambience of the room.rashomon wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 6:20 pmIs it confirmed somewhere that they are recording the shows?markreed wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 5:10 pm They're recording all the shows, so a live album seems a very wise move - especially with all the songs across the residency that have barely been played live before.

Harsh if you live in Bangor, Budapest or Baltimore though.

Didn't see any camera crew last night, so not sure they're capturing professional footage unless it happened on the other nights.

Imagine how much the boys could charge if they rented out a Caribbean resort and invited fans to hang with them for $5k night.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

I'll take another run of it somewhere up north.

1. Obscure in Royal Arena Copenhagen (should be easy to sell out) and other places in Europe.
2. A massive cd/vinyl release of all b-sides in one (remastered)
3. Will we ever get a box set of all singles from start to end?

I was thinking during the show that they could release the Obscure recordings (if there were any) as a limited edition bonus of a third b-sides compilation. That would make sense.

I attended the Wednesday show and I loved it! It was what I have wanted to experience for so many years.
That said, I don’t really see a point in a live album or such. Maybe some nice bonus tracks on future singles, but to be honest I think that the spoken parts between songs probably is what would be of most interest to those who did not see the show. The music sounded very much like the studio versions, much more so than on the regular PSB tours, so I don’t find a live album very interesting in this case. I’m ok with that, making new arrangements of 35 old tracks would mean a lot of work. Maybe a blu-ray so I could hear everything that Neil said, I did not catch all during the concert

Agreed, but they are a British band and stuff like this is likely to take place in Britain.OakeyDokey wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 7:05 pmHarsh if you live in Bangor, Budapest or Baltimore though.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

This has been a dream of mine for a while. Singing from a stool, nice dinner jacket, lots of ballads - check, check and checkity-check. Throw in dinner and a nice bubbly and we're all set.Too Many Shadows wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 6:33 pm Could Obscure perhaps be the first in a series of short-form experiences? You joke, and this will NEVER happen, but given how many festivals seem to be taking place on ocean liners these days, can you imagine the fun and giggles you could have with the double entendres of Pet Shop Boys Cruise?ChoonHound wrote: Fri 10 Apr 2026, 7:26 pm Imagine how much the boys could charge if they rented out a Caribbean resort and invited fans to hang with them for $5k night.

I’d never go on a cruise, and I wouldn’t pay $5000/night, but for a $2500/night I’d do it.

I think the charm of Obscure is its unique nature, and I’m happy for it to remain another of the amazing one-off (five-off?) PSB events
