Too bad they didn't really continue after 1990. Parts of the comeback album were good but they should've kept going. They had an interesting mix of commercial and experimental. The 1984 soundtrack is a great album.
I was listening to "Ministry of Love" just this week! 1984 is indeed a great album. The end of their experimental era, which I loved the most (and which was somewhat revived on Savage). It's a shame the soundtrack is not publicly available in the catalog.

Peace was pretty wonderful. Would have been nice if they both wanted to keep working together. Alas. (I've read that Lennox has been working with Wendy & Lisa lately, so I'm pretty curious about that.)

There were some controversies about the soundtrack back in the day, perhaps that's why.

What were you listening to BEFORE Pet Shop Boys?*
*Looks like a typo...

Q. Why were you listening to BEFORE, Pet Shop Boys?
A. Because that was the single.
You gotta have fun!

Kate bush, genesis, jimmy sommerville, sting, various artists, i was not interested in electronic music. In 95, i was (re)discovering things i heard on the radio during my childood (madonna, tears for fear, a ha...).

when i was small ( around 5 or 6 ), my dad would play the PopArt dvd in the living room and i really enjoyed it.
as i got older i forgot about this band and only remembered some parts of the clips ( such as the ostrich in can you forgive her, the statue of liberty in go west, the ´fight´ scene in i wouldn´t normally do this kind of thing and the running hat in yesterday when i was mad ), so i just listened to whatever i found like abba or lady gaga.
i think in 2020 i really got back to listening to the psb :Domino dancing

and i still remember the running hat :))

  • Rammstein
  • Oasis
  • Nine Inch Nails
  • Erasure
  • The Police (I even got a cassette of Zenyatta Mondatta)
  • Pink Floyd
  • Kino
  • New Order
I'm afraid a whole lot, maybe? There is more I would've listed, but then it'd become an endless post. I would not fully get into the Pet Shop Boys up until 2021 when I stumbled with the song of Love is a Bourgeois Construct on a YT video, and... well, from there on, I ended getting the PopArt CD to solidify my stance with this duo. lol.

Wow I really wonder what happened to those members who used to post early 2010s. There are surely some great posts from that time and I hope that all those posters are all healthy, alive and kicking. Wish they were still around.
